Long cardigans and a life update.

Sweater. Chambray top. Similar Jeans. Loafers. Similar Bag. Sunglasses. Necklace. Ring.

You guys, sometimes when I’m putting a post together, I get it all ready and I go to write something, and it’s like…blank.  I got nothing.  It might have something to do with staying up way too late watching the Olympics for the last few weeks or maybe the fact that I’m currently sitting on the couch next to a sick Ava and a throw-up bowl (ug), I’m kind of boring on this Friday.  So I thought I would just give you guys a little life update.

But first, let’s talk about this cardigan for a hot second.  If you can’t tell I’ve been on a real long cardigan kick lately.  They’re such a great spring item for layering over jeans or dresses, and I love this one because it’s fun and extra springy with the stripes.  (Right now, it’s on sale for under $30)

And now for a little life update.  First of all, our bathroom.  We’ve started to remodel it which means right now, it’s just a big hole.  We’ve got it all ripped out down to the studs.  This has proved interesting because we only have 2 bathrooms in our house, so right now, it’s 6 people for 1 bathroom.  It’s a little crazy in the mornings as you can imagine, and we’ve had a few interesting emergencies.  But I am so excited to see how our bathroom turns out.  it’s going to be so pretty!

My kids have gotten so busy lately, Hannah is her student council president, she’s on the mock trial team, and is going to be performing in the spring play.  Carter, is also in the play, and is taking mixed martial arts with Ethan.  Ethan is my kid who is constantly reading.  They all love to read, but for him, it’s almost an obsession.  He’s so cute to watch at his martial arts classes.  He takes them so seriously.  Ava is learning to add, loving preschool and is the happiest spot in everyone’s day.

Around the farm, our chickens have gotten huge, and it’s now no question that we have a rooster.  That guy does not mess around.  I went up to heard the ladies back into the barn last week, and he literally attacked me.  It was actually kind of scary.  I may or may not have screamed like a little girl.

We’re planning to plant a flower garden and a vegetable garden in the spring.  Any master gardeners out there?  Send me your tips.  Historically I’ve had a black thumb, but I’m determined to change that this year.  I’m also trying to convince Craig to build me a greenhouse this spring… we’ll see.   We have a lot of projects going.

Speaking of which.  Our first big outside project this spring is building a massive chicken coop for all the ladies.  We’re working on designing it now.  It’s going to be so cool.

So that’s what’s going on around these parts!  Share something exciting happening with you right now!

Such a cute look! Loving those loafers! I’m looking forward to spring here in Ohio, we’ve had lots and lots of rain, so things are beginning to pop up! I also gathered lots of seeds from various annuals last fall, and am going to sow them and see what happens….I’m hoping for a profusion of color!
