If there ever was a trend made for mothers, athleisure is it. I mean, it’s like the ultimate momiform, amiright? Easy to move in, comfortable and still put together and chic. Who could ask for a more mom-friendly trend? It took me a little while to embrace the trend cause I’m kind of an “anti-yoga-pants-all-day” kind of person. (I need to “get dressed” to not “get depressed.”) But once I found athleisure items that worked for me, so I felt comfy but still put together, I’ve never gone back. Athleisure for life! Here are three athleisure pieces I think every mother should own.
Joggers: If you’re not all about running around town in a pair of leggings then joggers are the alternative of choice for you. And to be honest, I think they’re a great deal more flattering on most body types. Especially someone like me, with short muscular legs. Also, joggers are super comfy and easily dressed up. Find a non-sweat pair and style them with a less casual shoe and a blouse and you’re ready for the office or a date night.

Graphic Sweatshirts: Think of it as a fun twist on a classic, you can throw on a graphic sweatshirt and go while making a fancy-free, quirky statement. I love this one I snagged at H&M because it means “stars” in French, and I love the Brunette line at Nordstrom.

Sneakers: The ultimate athleisure piece, throw it on for a sporty take on just about any outfit, including a dress or a pair of jeans. I love it paired with other athleisure pieces because it makes the whole look feel effortlessly chic. It’s the ultimate “I just threw this on” look.

It took me a bit, but I am all in with the athleisure trend now. I have a cute pair of joggers from Old Navy, moto style with zipper pockets. They dress up so easy. I can totally get away with wearing them at work with a pair of black heels!

How do you find joggers short enough? Most are easily 3 inches too long!
