thursday thoughts.

Skirt.(on sale!)  T-shirt. Sandals. Bag. Sunglasses. Necklace. Watch.

There are some weeks that drag on, and on and some that just fly by and I’m like it’s already Thursday and I’m like, “I was just trying to wrap my brain around my Monday to-do list like 5 minutes ago, what actually happened?”

So here’s a few thoughts on this lovely Thursday.

My allergies are literally killing me right now.  Like I think they really do wish me dead or something.  They’re making it impossible to sleep and I feel like I can’t breathe.  Think I look calm and collected here?  My face feels like an actual punching bag.

I love having four kids so much, but man, sometimes it’s so hard to balance all the things they need from me, and all the places we have to be, and sometimes I just feel like I will never be caught up on everything at the same time.  This week, it feels a little like I am drowning in motherhood, and work, and just life.  Life 1, Cori 0.

There are so many amazing sales happening right now I don’t even know where to start… like I don’t usually get worked up about sales,  but these are so good and so many great pieces at the same time…

First off, Nordstrom’s half yearly sale started, yay!  The stuff that is marked down this year is goooood.  Like so good, and so much of it is perfect for the summer season, like this skirt I am wearing here, is marked down to $58.80 and it’s in stock in every size!  A few other items I am obsessed with: this ruffle dress that comes in 3 colors/prints is the literal cutest, and perfect for summer church, or weddings, picnics, or just wearing around.

I’m also loving this cute casual baseball tee, (perfect for a mom running around town) it’s on sale for $23. I’m also loving this ruffle collar dress and this causal shirt dress.  Can you tell I’ve got skirts and dresses on my mind right now?  They’re my favorite thing to wear right now.

more Nordstrom sale favorites:

Okay, let’s see… another great sale happening right now is the Shopbop up to 40% off sale.  Shopbop is where I buy a lot of my investment pieces and some of my other favorites too (like Madewell and Free people) because I love their super fast free shipping.  Like it will be on your doorstep in 3 days, fast.  The have a ton of gorgeous swimsuits marked down as part of the sale, and a lot of great denim too.

I’m loving this super cute Free People dress that’s marked down (it comes in 3 colors), and my red striped ruffle shirt you all went crazy for is on sale now for under $50.  This floral top would be soooo cute with anything high-waisted (ooooh, it would be cute with this skirt too!), and these cognac block heel sandals are perfect for summer, I’m obsessed.

shopbop sale favorites:

Ann Taylor, Loft and J.Crew all have 40% off your entire purchase right now.

here are a few favorites from those sales:

In other news: we are finalizing our Europe itinerary right now, and I can’t wait to share more with you all!  Let me know if this is something you would like more details on…

Also, speaking of travel, I am heading to DC for 5 days in a few weeks and I would love some recs from you guys.  Share your favorite restaurants and places to see.  (kid friendly as I’ll have my two girls with me.)  I’ve been to DC but only as a kid and it’s been awhile.

Happy Thursday everyone!  Only 1 more day until the long weekend!

Everything in Eastern Market/Capitol Hill area is super kid friendly (it’s the family area of DC). Ted’s Bulletin doesn’t do weekend reservations, but it’s always a kids favorite. District Taco is always a lot of fun too!

    Enjoy!

You have to go to the Spy museum, it’s so awesome! We got a personal tour guide at the Capitol (not sure if you have to book that ahead of time.. My mom did it all when we went haha!) and that was one of my favorites!

I second Ted’s Bulletin and District Taco! The homemade poptarts at Ted’s are the best. Also donuts from Sugar Shack (check their Twitter to see if there’s a freebie of the day), cupcakes from Red Velvet Cupcakery, and French food at Le Diplomate.
