I’m a believer, how I became a Lululemon convert.

Lululemon Leggings. Top. Sports Bra. Similar Nikes. FitBit. Loopy Case. (use code: cori10 for 10% off.)

Let me preface this entire post by saying that I am not the kind of person who buys into hype.  In fact, generally speaking, if something is getting a whole lot of hype I tend steer clear of it out of principle.  I’m stubborn like that.  I like to think for myself, so just because something is popular or everyone tells me I’m going to love it, doesn’t mean I will.  And all the hype around Lululemon leggings for the last several years had me rolling my eyes skeptically.

But now, I’m a believer.  Like a full blown, Lululemon fangirl and I’m not even embarrassed about it.

Let me tell you how this all came about.

I’m a big podcast listener, and one of my favorites to listen to is called “How I Built This” with Guy Raz. He basically interviews all these amazing people who have started successful companies, people like Kate and Andy Spade, the guy that started Home Depot, the founder of Starbucks, the guys who started  AirBNB, Instagram, I could go on and on.  It’s an amazing podcast.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I listened to the episode with the founder of, you guessed it, Lululemon.  And listening to the story behind the brand made me really respect the mission, and what they were trying to accomplish with the product.  It also made me curious to try the product, even though I typically don’t spend that much on athletic wear.

Then a week or so later, my friend Emily was in town and we went into New York for the day.  We were walking through Soho and I saw a Lululemon store.  I mentioned that I was interested in trying their leggings because of the episode I had listened to.  She immediately started gushing about how much she LOVES Lululemon leggings, how amazing the product is, and how they literally make her legs and bum look better.  Emily is a trainer and someone who’s opinion I really respect, so I knew I really needed to try them.

We popped into the Soho store and the shop girl directed me to the 21 inch cropped align leggings.  Oh my goodness, the second I pulled them on I was hooked.  And now I can say, without shame, I’m a Lululemon convert.

These leggings are worth every single penny.  They are magic pants.

Here’s what I love about them.

First of all, they make you look good.  Rather than emphasizing your trouble spots, these leggings have a double layer that sucks you in, lifts you up, smoothes you out, and camouflages the trouble areas.

They are sooooo insanely comfortable.  I was worried when the girl at the shop said double layer that I might feel like I was suffocating, but no.  These are the most comfortable leggings I’ve ever worn.  You put them on and you never want to take them off.

They are buttery soft.  I know I just said they are comfortable, but this deserves it’s own bullet point.  They are the softest leggings I’ve ever worn.

They fit me perfectly.  I have a lot of trouble finding workout wear being so petite, but the 21″ align crops fit like a glove.  Like a really comfortable, flattering glove.

They are high waisted, but they don’t squeeze your waist. I love a good high waisted legging but most of them feel like they’re sucking the life right out of me.  These don’t.  I even wore them to travel last week and they were so comfortable.

Anyway, long story short, I’m in love with these leggings, they totally get my stamp of approval and I don’t think I’ll ever shop another workout brand.

The Align leggins are the absolute most amazing leggings I have ever worn. I have 3 pair of the ankle length ones and 3 pair of the 21 inch ones for work outs, and I could probably buy several more. I love them!

As a fitness instructor, I can say they truly withstand all the abuse! I swore up and down I would never ever ever spend that much on athletic apparel – I was a die hard Champion/Target brand girl. But, like you, as soon as I pulled on a pair of Lulu’s, I could never go back. I have been wearing some of my leggings (and skorts because let’s be real, they are darling) for 5 years now and they still look brand new and they still wick sweat and they don’t get stinky. Also, their high waisted leggings got me through my third pregnancy!

  5. Everyone I know says the same thing about Lululemon, and I”m nervous to try them because if I do, and I love them, then I’m going to throw away all my current active wear and go broke buying it all from Lululemon haha!

  8. We are lifetime believers in our house because my husband is a professional dancer and they are the only thing he will buy for work. I only own one outfit from Lululemon, but I have had it for 11 years and it is still like new, even through hours and hours of yoga and running. Pretty amazing products!! As a petite person married to a tall (6’4″) person, their stuff fits us both and they offer complimentary hemming for anything in the store. I’d rather buy one or two pants and have them for a decade than burn through trendy workout gear that stretches out of shape, smells bad or frays after a year or two!

I would check out Athleta! The company is all about inspiring women a nd girls. Features models in all shapes , sizes, age and color. They are B company (which is all about a better environment, work conditions, clothes sourcing, etc.) Not to mention the products are amazing!! I don’t work for them, just a HUGE fan! After the whole lululemon controversy and making comments that their cloth a we’re ripping and weren’t design for larger sizes just peeved me!

I just stumbled across this blog post and wanted to chime in to share my same love affair for Lululemon. As an athletic male, I will attest that their men’s clothes are just as comfortable. A couple friends of mine have been praising about Lulu for awhile and like you, I didn’t buy into the hype until one day I decided to give them a try. About a year and half later I can say I’ve developed an expensive addiction with Lulu.

Aside from their comfortable apparel, they truly have one of the best customer services in the industry. I had a part of Surge shorts for a few months that began to fray on the back. Mind you, I’m OCD when it comes to washing them, after all you’re spending on them you want them to last. So I chatted with one of their online customer service team members and they immediately refunded what I paid and sent me a prepaid return label. Super easy, no hassle return. I was truly impressed.

I am a Lululemon believer too.

    Hi Cori Lynn,
LuLu may be a wonderful company with a great mission, but if their employees are all like the ones at my local mall, The Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem NH, it’s a company run by the most compassionate and giving staff. Please check out my future daughter-in-laws blog, myOkemo.blog, to find out our heartwarming experience with them this past Christmas. The particular story is titled “when life gives you lemons…”, but feel free to read her entire blog. It opens your eyes to something many young women don’t think they need to worry about, yet.
