3 classic 90’s inspired trends to try this fall with eBay.

I was born in the 80’s but the height of my teenage years happened in the mid-late 90’s which means, I’ve always had a soft spot for the culture, music, and fashion trends of those years.  (Can you say “Clueless?”) Some of the trends that went away with Y2K I was happy to leave behind me, others have been making a comeback in the last few years, some of which I’m thrilled to welcome back with open arms.

I’ve been browsing eBay lately because it’s such a great place to find rare or vintage pieces and was happy to discover their fashion section with tons of great name brand pieces and lots of fun 90’s inspired styles.  Whenever I’m trying out a trend, I try to put my own classic timeless spin on it, that way if the trend moves on, the pieces are still great staples for my wardrobe that I’ll want to keep wearing.

Here are 3 classic 90’s inspired trends worth trying out this fall and easy to find on eBay.

1. High waisted Levi jeans:  We all had a pair of 501’s in the 90’s that we wore with those flannel shirts tucked into.  The 90’s were a literal high point for waistlines, as a lot of the styles fell around the belly button or above.  Levi has been so great about bringing back updated cuts of their high waisted classic styles.  I’m not a huge fan of high waisted skinny jeans (they are not flattering on my short frame) but I’m more than on-board with the waist cinching, leg-lengthening high waisted straight, culotte and boyfriend styles.  If you haven’t ventured into these styles yet, I highly recommend it.  They are quite flattering (even if you’re short like me) and I just find I feel so classic and lovely wearing something that falls at my natural waist.

I love pairing high waisted denim with a simple tee and a bandana for august and then with a fitted sweater and booties later on in the fall.  eBay has so many awesome Levi options, in just about every size and style you could think of, and if you’re a little hesitant about jumping into the trend you can find a pair for much less than shopping typical retail.  And with eBay’s “by it now” option, you don’t have to sit around and wait to see if you’ll be outbid. It’s also a great place to find lots of fun vintage options to try as well.

2. Rattan straw bags: These have been making a comeback for the last few years, and Iam so glad.  Such a classic, versatile style.  I’ve carried my rattan straw crossbody all over Europe and I can honestly say it’s just about a perfect purse especially for traveling.  I love this simple crossbody style. Petite rattan crossbody bags just scream 90’s to me, and you can find an almost exact dupe of this one on eBay right now at a fraction of the price I paid for it, and with seller reviews and feedback you can shop confidently.

3. Ray-Ban Aviators: When I was growing up, it seemed like every dad had a pair of Ray-Ban aviators.  They were like the official sunglass style of the 90’s.  Top Gun might have made these popular, but RayBan aviators are a classic and they will never go out of style.  Plus these are basically magical sunglasses. This unisex pair literally looks good on everyone, from my older sister to my husband. They are also insanely comfortable, lightweight and never give me a headache.  And here’s the great thing: you can snag a pair of them for less than half the price brand new on eBay.

Are there any 90’s inspired trends that you are loving right now?
