13 ways to style over the knee boots.

OTK boots featured in this post.

I hope you’ve all been enjoying this series, how to style one piece multiple ways.  I sure am, and it’s even helping me learn to use my closet better and be more creative with the pieces I already have and more discerning about the ones I add.  And the more I do these, the more ideas I have when I’m styling pieces.

I asked earlier this week on my instastories what piece you all would like me to style multiple ways this week, and the overwhelming response was,  Over the knee boots!  Who knew?  I get it though, because this can be a tricky style, and then there’s the whole thing about whether or not you feel like you can pull them off, etc. etc.  Which I get because I didn’t think I could pull them off for a long time, being so petite, but it turns out, in a lot of ways, these are easier to make work that riding boots.  The reason is, when you’re trying to find riding boots (or knee high boots), there are often issues with the shaft height landing in the wrong spot (too high) and cutting into your knee (which incidentally, isn’t super flattering.). It’s really hard to find riding boots with a short shaft height.  But with OTK boots, because they go OVER THE KNEE, if they are a little taller, it’s almost unnoticeable.  Plus they are comfortable!  Like a nice hug for your leg.

If you’ve been on the fence about trying OTK boots, I suggest giving them a try.  They pair really well with so many pieces in your capsule wardrobe, skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, sweaters you name it.  And I think they make a very pretty statement.

Today I am going to share two different colors of over the knee boot, both from the same brand.  (Basically the same boot in 2 colors) so you can see different ways to style the different colors and that way you’ll have ideas no matter which boot color you pick.  (Or if you pick both!). These are amazing boots, especially for the price (under $150!).  Comfortable, and they stay up really really well, even wearing them all day walking around NYC last year they stayed up beautifully and were super comfortable.
