holiday outfit idea: lace and plaid.

I thought it would be fun to share some holiday outfit inspiration with you guys. Whether its a pretty dress or a great jumpsuit, I love dressing this time of year and since there are lots of holiday parties and 4-5 Sundays of church to don festive attire, there is no shortage of opportunities. Today I wanted to share one of my favorite combinations with you: lace and holiday plaid.

I love the juxtaposition and how the outdoorsy plaid plays off the ultra-feminine lace. I bought this pretty lace dress a few years ago (for the Holiday season) and it’s turned out to be a great investment. I’ve pulled it out many times over the last several years, and have been pleasantly surprised by how versatile the lace turned out to be. Last year I first paired it with one of my plaid shirts and I loved the combination so much, I knew I would try it again this year.

The moral of the story is, don’t be afraid to try new things, even with the piece you’ve had in your closet for a few years. You never know what kind of cool combination you’ll stumble into.
