Paper-bag pants: so provincial. Top. Shoes. Hat. Necklace. Lipstick(color: snob).
Last week we had a little taste of spring when it was in the 50’s and 60’s for a few days, and it was glorious. We’ve had a kind of disappointing winter so far, lots of cold and virtually no snow (boo), so I didn’t mind having a few days of spring like weather, where the kids and I could go out in the pasture and have a picnic or just play with the goats and chickens for awhile without even needing a coat. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow (fingers crossed that we actually get enough accumulation to make it fun) but I did so enjoy our little taste of spring before winter part 2 commences.
Speaking of winter! We are heading to Quebec this weekend for the winter carnival and I am literally bursting at the seams I’m so excited. We haven’t really traveled at all since I got back from California in September and at that point I was really wanting to stay home and work on house projects and the property for a few months (especially after being gone basically the entire summer). But I have been getting the travel itch bad for the last month or so, and I am so excited to explore Quebec City, do all the fun winter things, and let the kids practice their French some more.
Have you been to Quebec? Tell me your favorite things to do, places to eat, etc. etc. I’m planning all the things this week!
Also, speaking of spring. These cute striped paper-bag waist pants just hit the shop this morning, and I am seriously in love with them. I hemmed mine up a bit (cause #shorty) but they are super perfect for the spring and summer months. Lightweight and comfortable, with a classic stripe and a super flattering paper-bag waist.
For the past week or so I’ve been complaining that it’s really cold here while all the North American bloggers have been saying it’s been kinda like spring over there but I think we’re finally getting a bit of that over here so your outfit really fits the occasion haha I love the trousers, they’re so pretty and while I’d probably not give them a second glance a couple years ago, today all I want is to see what’s out there that isn’t jeans.
I loved Quebec City – we went there in September 2017. I want to go for the winter carnival too because I like cold weather, winter and cool weather vacations. Yes – I’m a bit odd. We hit La Maison Smith almost every morning for breakfast – yummy pastries, coffee, hot cocoa and Paillard a couple of times for lunch. Paillard has great sandwiches, soups, pastries, etc. It’s what we in the US would call fast-casual.
Citadelle de Québec
La chute Montmorency (waterfall taller than Niagara Falls)
Île d’Orléans (farms, fromagerie, chocalaterie)
The drive along le Chemin du Roy between Montréal and Québec is beautiful.
Have a beaver tail (pastry with different toppings). Lobster omelet at Eggspectation is delicious!
Québec is beautiful all year round. Do a road trip to Montréal and Ottawa in the summer.
We had a taste of Spring too and it was amazing! Omg Quebec is so cute! Definitely has a European feel to it! And I love that paper bag pants! So cute!
