how to get out of a style rut.

Today I want to talk about style ruts.  How we all get in them, and how to get out of one.  And make sure you stick around until the end cause I’ve got a really exciting announcement.

You know, I’ve been writing this blog for 8 years now.  8 YEARS of talking about and writing about style and do you know what?  I still get into style ruts.  I fell into a big one a few years ago, and getting dressed became such a chore.  Styling outfits for the blog, that became downright painful. I sat down at the time and thought about why I was having so much trouble getting dressed every day, my closet was full of pretty clothes, I know how to put together a decent outfit, why did every morning end with clothes strewn all over the floor of my closet and me in some drab outfit I didn’t really like.  It didn’t make sense.  And then my mindset shifted.

This shift first began when we moved into our farmhouse, and I had to really truly curate my wardrobe for the first time since college because I suddenly had a fraction of the space I’d had for years.  I traded a large walk-in for a much smaller janky old-farmhouse closet.

You know what I discovered?

I don’t need that much space to have a closet that serves me!

Then we went to Paris in 2017 and I was even more inspired by the Parisian lifestyle and the way those French women (and men!) dress.  The closet in our airbnb was TINY.  People live like that, all day, every day and yet they still look dang stylish.  My mindset shifted again.

I had too much stuff, and that stuff wasn’t serving me.

And the more my mindset shifted, the more I’ve wanted to serve you all in a different and better way.  I started trying to find pieces that I felt would really truly serve you and then showing you lots of different options for styling them, so you could get the most out of the things you purchase.  And I’ve loved the response to those style sessions, seeing you guys try things and style pieces in lots of different ways, really using your clothes!

But I wanted to do more.  So I started working on a solution in the fall.  I started writing a course that would teach you all how to shift your mindset towards getting dressed, my system for organizing any closet (big or small) that I’ve been honing basically since high school, how to pinpoint your personal style and finally, how to build your own capsule.

This course is about having less, but getting more.  Less clothes, less stress, less chaos and mess, more order, peace, time, style, and MONEY in your bank account.

And I’m so excited because I am launching the course today!

I wrote this course to help you turn your closet into a tool that serves you and your needs in your life everyday.  To help you clean out the clutter that’s stressing you out and holding you back.  To help save you time and money, by streamlining your wardrobe, while still being able to get dressed in a way where you feel your best everyday.  To help change your mindset around the way you get dressed, and what you choose to keep in your space, so you can get more out of what you have and have more experiences that matter.

I built this course for you, and it’s singular purpose is to help you live your best life.

If you are stuck in a style rut, if your closet is a mess, if you find yourself buying clothes impulsively and then having no idea how to wear them, this course is for you.  If you want to have more time in the mornings while still feeling your best, if you want to save hundreds of dollars a year, if you’ve ever wondered how to build a capsule, or just need a little extra style help, this course is for you!
