I’ve got this shoes.

Gingham shoes.

Several years ago I went to New York for a business trip.  It was a red eye flights and I only packed a carry-on so I wore my bulkiest shoes, a pair of chunky wedges, on the flight.  When I arrived, rather than doing the sensible thing  and opening up my suitcase to change my shoes, I checked my bag at the hotel and went out for the day in the shoes I was wearing.

Now those wedges were cute but they were not made for walking, and to say that wearing them all day around the city was a mistake would be an understatement.  I was in agony.  By the end of the day I could hardly walk and I had strained my left foot in a way that hurt for more than a year.  I was kicking myself no pun intended, for months, for not just stopping and changing my shoes really quick before I left.

This experience totally changed the way I approach buying shoes.  You all know that cute shoes are important to me.  I want to look my best because when I look my best I feel good and I do better at life.  I love the way a great pair of shoes make an outfit pop, or finish off a simple basic look.

I also really care about taking care of my body and my feet. The purpose of shoes is to support your feet and make it easier for you to carry yourself through your day.  I feel like I am always on a mission to find beautiful shoes that also offer me that kind of support.

I love these gingham wedges from LifeStride I found at Zappos, because they are such a fun, cute addition to my spring and summer capsule but they’re also super comfortable and supportive.  I love it when I find shoes that are designed for real women, really walking around in real life with real feet.  When I find a shoe like that I basically want to shout it from the rooftops because it feels like there are so few shoe options out there that really give good support and great style.  These LifeStride wedges are both.

They’re fun, beautifully made, super comfortable to wear and walk in all day, and the classic gingham print makes them a great on-trend statement making piece, but still versatile enough to style a lot of different ways.  Plus I feel sassy in them, and a little wedge always gives me that extra boost of confidence, like, “I’m here, and I’ve got this.”

Zappos is my go-to for ordering shoes (not just for me, but for my whole family) because they carry so many great brands, and as a Zappos Rewards member I get free expedited shipping. (Especially helpful with my boys since they never tell me they need new shoes until they literally need them this second.)  Plus Zappos has the best customer service.
