You guys know that I am a huge advocate for feeling your best in your clothes everyday. I mean I literally wrote an entire course all about building an intentional closet because I have seen what a massive positive impact it has had on my life and the lives of the ladies I have worked with over the years. I am all about mindfully building a wardrobe that serves you, not buying things impulsively that end up in the back of the closet never worn. But I am also human and I get sick of my clothes like any other girl, so, it’s a balance, curating mindfully and intentionally while also keeping your closet feeling fresh. So lets talk about that today…
Here are 3 tips for keeping your closet feeling fresh without
1.Make sure you are crazy in love with your staple pieces. There’s a reason I teach the importance of really taking the time to thoughtfully curate your wardrobe capsule pieces. These are pieces you are going to wear a lot to mix and match with other more trendy seasonal pieces. You need to be head-over-heels for these pieces. When you truly love them, you never get tired of wearing them. For example, these jeans, shoes and bag are all part of my capsule foundation. I carefully selected them and I love all of them so much. Which is why I always feel like incorporating them into my outfits and I don’t get tired of them. I’ve bought other capsule pieces in the past that I liked but didn’t love, and I bought them because I thought they would be versatile and useful. But guess what, even though they were really great staples, they weren’t really me, and I never wore them/got sick of them fast because I didn’t completely love them. Make sure you are crazy picky when it comes to picking your capsule pieces. You’ve got to love everything about them, from the color, cut, style, fit, etc.
2. Rotate in trendy items every season to keep it fresh. I always allow myself 3-5 trendy pieces each season to rotate into my wardrobe and help keep it feeling fresh. I also don’t invest a lot in these if I think they won’t be sticking around for more than a season. I still make sure I really love the pieces, because I don’t need any extra clutter in my life, thank you very much! Tops and accessories are some of my favorite pieces to rotate in, but I also love a good pair of statement pants as well!
3. Clean out your closet every season. If you haven’t done a major closet overhaul/gone through the organization process, I highly recommend checking out my course. I walk you through the whole process of cleaning out and organizing your closet, and then building your wardrobe with intention. If you have, then I still recommend doing a little closet clean-out every season. Yes, as in 4 times a year. Cleaning out your closet forces you to look at what you have, tidy it up and let go of the pieces that don’t serve you. It instantly adds a fresh feeling to the space when you remove all the clutter that has been inhibiting your creativity. Also, you can use services like postmark to sell the pieces you are parting with, which basically pays for the new pieces you want to rotate in. I also never add something new to my closet without removing at least one piece I no longer want. This way my space never gets out of control.

Very nice tips! I feel like my biggest difficulty with my wardrobe is exactly getting bored with it. What I do now is I have a bunch of basics that I wear all the time together and then whenever I feel like doing something different, I grab the more trendy and not so everyday wear pieces. I definitely think doing regular cleanouts is very important because we discover pieces we had forgotten and without the clutter, it’s easier to get creative.
These are great tips! I definitely think cleaning out your closet every season helps out a lot!
