THE best cropped wide-leg pants ever.

Wide-leg cropped pants. Linen top. White slip-on sandals. (all c/o Everlane)

Denim Jacket. Transport tote.

Not to brag or anything, but I kind of consider myself a wide-leg pant connoisseur. ;-)  After avoiding them for a the first few seasons they were a trend (because I didn’t think I could “pull them off” as a petite) I jumped with both feel in and now, this pant silhouette has become an integral part of my capsule.  I love this style because it’s classic, mom-friendly and easy to dress up or down.

I have also tried on a lot of these cropped wide leg pant styles.  Some are good, some are amazing and some are truly comedic they’re so bad.  With a high waist and a wide leg, it is easy to get wrong if the right fabric isn’t used or the design isn’t cut just right.  So when I find a really truly great pair I like to share them with you all.  And today, I want to share these amazing wide leg cropped pants from Everlane because I think they are the best ones I’ve tried yet.

Here’s what I love about them and why.

1. THE FABRIC.  The fabric quality on these is out of this world.  It is thick enough to really be supportive, but not too thick.  It is so soft and comfortable, stretchy enough to really moved around in, but not so stretchy it’s going to bag out terribly by the end of the day.

2. THE CUT.  These have the perfect balance of wide-but-not-too-wide cut on them, and I LOVE it.  The hips fit perfectly, and the back pockets seriously flatter your booty.

3.THE COLOR.  These pants come in a variety of colors, but I am obsessed with this gorgeous ochre hue.  It’s so rich and such a great neutral, looks fantastic paired with a variety of colors and just feels really warm.  Perfect color for a capsule because it’s so versatile.

4. MAGIC POCKETS. These pants have the amazing magic pocket design, where the pockets are sewed into the front so they really nicely suck in and smooth out your mom-pooch area (always a plus!).  Since this can be a tricky area on high waisted pants, I really appreciate how flattering it is on these ones.

5. THEY’RE SUPER COMFORTABLE.  While I love high waisted pants, sometimes I feel like they are squeezing the life out my waist/crotch, and it’s the worst.  These are not at all like that.  They are so comfortable and soft, I love wearing them.

Speaking of comfortable, I just got these Everlane sandals to try out and they are amazingly soft and so comfy right out of the box.  There’s not really any cushioning on the footbed, so they wouldn’t make a great travel, walk-all-day sandal, but the leather straps are like butter soft and these would be a great casual everyday sandal.  Also loving this linen shirt from Everlane, as always their quality is unbeatable, prices are on point and I love their ethical transparent manufacturing.

Have you tried the wide-leg trend yet?  What’s your favorite pair?

I’ve been avoiding cropped wide leg pants as well, I think they won’t look good on me but I’ve been so focused on trying new things out that I usually wouldn’t that I’m tempted to try this style as well. Those look really cute, I love the colour because it’s not basic black or a dark shade but it’s still neutral.
