Cute girl’s fall capsule pieces from Target.

This post was created in partnership with Target.

Dress. Tights. Boots. Clips.

The weather started to cool off in the last couple weeks here in New England and we could not be happier.  It’s so gorgeous and crisp outside, the leaves are starting to turn and fall, and it’s just gorgeous!  Ava wanted to go through her drawers the other day after our first truly chilly day, and we discovered, that she has grown out of just about every single thing from last autumn.  This is why I do capsules for my kids.  A few well-chosen versatile pieces work way better than a drawer stuffed full of clothes.  (Especially when Ava is growing out of things faster than I imagined a kid of mine could.)  It’s also easier for kids to manage a curated wardrobe and they learn how to effectively coordinate and mix and match their clothes.  A capsule is all about quality over quantity, so when I am looking for pieces for my kids capsules it’s all about value.

Since Ava had grown out of basically all her cold-weather clothes, I popped over to the mothership (AKA Target.com) to look for some new pieces for her fall capsule.  Ava’s at that funny age where she’s really starting to have an opinion about what she wears, she’s too big for “little kid” clothes but not really ready for teenage styles just yet.  Thank goodness for Target’s Art Class line, it’s full of cute mom-approved styles that can be mixed and matched lots of different ways.  Ava and I picked out a few new pieces from the line last week and we thought it would be fun to give you three outfit ideas for your in-between girls!  Especially since Target is having a 20% off sale for clothing, shoes and accessories for the whole family right now.

For the first outfit, Ava picked out this super cute little puff sleeve floral dress and we paired it with some thick sweater tights and booties comfy enough to run around in.  I love this dress, it’s a perfect fall dress, layers so well with a denim jacket or a long sweater and Ava looked so cute in it.  Plus it’s under $20!

Jeans. Floral top. Long sleeved tee. Boots. Clips

For the second outfit we layered a long sleeve shirt under this cute little floral tee and then paired them with these great little skinny jeans from Art Class. Ava is not a jeans lover, in fact she usually fights me on them, but these are so soft she loves them and the adjustable waist makes it great for growing kids.  The whole outfit has a sweet but sporty vibe that is so Ava.

Floral top. Moto leggings. Cardigan. Boots

This last outfit is all about comfort!  Ava is my kid who always wants to be comfy and these little moto leggings get two thumbs up.  She keeps calling them her “leggings that look like pants.”  They come in black as well but we both love this pretty olive color.  We kept the same floral top from above and then finished it off with a super soft cozy long cardigan sweater and the same booties again.  Just a fun comfy outfit.
