New England Fall girl’s trip.

A couple weeks ago I headed north for a quick little fall girls trip. We spent a few days in some of my favorite New England spots and it was such a fun, and beautiful trip. I thought it would be fun to do a quick little recap today, so you can bookmark it for future trips or if you plan to visit New England in the fall. (Highly recommend!)

I’ll share where we went and stayed, and some of our favorite places to eat, shop and visit. Pretty much every spot we visited was pretty magical, and perfect for a weekend (or week) away with your friends or hubby.

Maine:

Our first stop was Kennebunkport, Maine. This is the most charming little town right on the coast of Maine. There are lots of little shops and restaurants to visit, it’s very walkable and we had a ball walking around all morning and exploring.

We stayed at the Kennebunkport Inn and it is the most beautiful charming inn, right in the middle of town. Perfect for being right in the middle of everything.

The first night we drove about 20 minutes down the road and had dinner at No. Five-O in Ogunquit, Maine, and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The chef is a true artist and the restaurant is darling.

The next day we explored Kennebunkport. We visited a bunch of shops. My favorite was the Good Earth, a gorgeous pottery store. We also poured our own candles at Sea Love Candles, one of my favorite parts of the trip. Then we hit the road for New Hampshire.

On the way to New Hampshire we made a stop at Snug Harbor Farms and believe me when I tell you, it’s is the most magical little spot and worth stopping in to explore…

New Hampshire:

That night we stayed at the most amazing airBNB in Gilford, NH. Its next to an old castle on the top of a hill overlooking lake Winnepesakee, and believe me when I tell you the views and the sunset were otherworldly.

That night we had dinner at O Steak and Seafood in Lanconia. I had a great steak and clam chowder, we all loved the desserts.

The next day we went to explore Meredith, NH. The first stop was to grab some Apple Cider Donuts at Moulton Farms, which we just stumbled upon quite serendipitously. It is the prettiest little spot, with a farmhouse, fresh produce, baked goods and the best apple cider donuts I’ve ever eaten.
After that we headed to downtown Meredith to visit some antique shops, and explore the pretty little town on the lake. We grabbed lunch at Main Cafe, in Meredith, and I had an amazing veggie bowl that I’m still thinking about 2 weeks later. After that I headed home!

What I packed for the trip.

The tricky part about packing for a fall trip to New England is that you may need sweaters and jackets, or you may need short sleeve shirts. Sometimes we have cooler weather and sometimes its actually quite warm. I recommend packing light layers that you can have fun with and easily peel off during warmer afternoons, I would include a scarf and a fun felt hat, and definitely a lightweight jacket. The weather during our trip was actually really beautiful and a bit warm, so I was glad I packed several easy dresses that kept me cool. Boots are always a good idea, as well as a pair of sneakers and some leggings if you want to do a quick fall hike. (Which I for sure recommend!)

Here’s what I packed:
