It’s been a few years since I started using a capsule approach to building my closet, and I have to say, it has made my life so much easier. I’m fully converted to the less, but better approach to building a wardrobe, but I also believe that you don’t have to spend a ton to find great pieces that will last and serve you year after year. I know that this has been a hard year financially for so many people and so finding good deals is a big priority. And I am so happy to see Walmart creating high quality lines that are so affordable.
Today I wanted to share some great winter capsule pieces from Walmart’s winter fashion line. This is my 4th season sharing capsule pieces from Walmart. When I discovered Walmart’s Free Assembly line last spring it was love at first try-on, and I’ve added pieces to my capsule every season since. I am loving the cozy pieces from the winter line. Here are my favorites, if you are building a capsule on a smaller budget, these are a great place to start. (And ps. I found some amazing fur lined Chelsea boots for a steal as well, read on friends…)
This sweater set is one of my favorite finds from the Free Assembly line this year. Normally its really hard to find sweater pants that work for petites, but these are so petite friendly and also so soft and comfortable. I love that you can wear it as a set or remix it other ways.
I’m not usually a big tunic sweater person, but this one is so great. It’s got great structure and fit, I love the finish on it, and it’s really bump and postpartum friendly!
This coat isn’t from the Free Assembly line, but I wanted to feature it today as part of my cozy winter capsule because Walmart now carries the line and the prices are around half the price they are on other websites. This is one of my all time favorite coats, and I cannot believe what a steal it is on Walmart’s site. See all the Orolay styles right here.

You guys know I love a good puff sleeve tee, and this one is so good. Great texture, perfect amount of puff on the sleeves, not at all see-through, and a really great price. It’s on sale for $14 and comes in 3 pretty colors.
These fur-lined Chelsea boots are a new-to-me brand discovery, Portland by Portland Boot Company. They are super cute and comfy, comes in several colors (I am wearing the olive color, which definitely pulls more taupe brown than green) The price is really great on these boots and the whole line is super cute! Lots of fun boots and sneaker styles for really good deals.
Last capsule piece I want to share with you today is this awesome red puffer coat. I love the details, the black buttons, the fit is really great and the color is a perfect true red. I’m a neutrals girl at heart, but I do love to incorporate red this time of year. It’s just fun and festive. Throw on a scarf and it’s perfect for Christmas but you can wear it through the season!
