One of my favorite ways to decorate during the holidays is with garland! I love a beautiful natural garland, but if I am decorating the house early in November, there’s no way it’s going to stay fresh until Christmas.
There are ways of extending the life of natural garland. Leave it outside for a day after you purchase it, then put it in a water bath for a couple days before hanging (this helps a ton). You can also spritz the garland with water ever other day. All of these will work to preserve natural garland for a longer period of time. And doing this usually gives me beautiful garland for almost a month.
My favorite place to find real evergreen garland is at Costco, and then I add sprigs of eucalyptus from Trader Joes, to give it more life and texture.
But if you are planning to decorate at the beginning of November or are looking for garland that will look beautiful and won’t leave your floor covered in pine needles, artificial is the way to go.
Luckily there are tons of gorgeous and realistic looking garlands out there right now, and I’m rounding up some of my favorites today. I’ve included some really beautiful greens options below, and a few with a little more whimsy for fun. Christmas should be full of whimsy after all, don’t you think?
Christmas decor often sells out early in the season, so if you see one that makes your heart go pitter-patter, make sure you snag it!
