On Saturday we went over to Shilshole bay and spent time on the marina. Craig is getting ready to start sailing lessons in a few weeks and he needed to pick up his class materials, so we decided to make a day of it. We couldn’t have planned more gorgeous weather if we wanted to. The Sound was literally dancing in the sunlight and all the boats looked so gorgeous in the blue water. Afterwards we walked over to Golden Gardens beach park and (attempted) to fly our kite, play in the sand and stop for a little treat at the end. Perfect Saturday.
I don’t think I’ve talked much here about my deep and abiding love for Madewell. This peasant top stole my heart last week, and it was perfect for our Saturday outing. Also, their denim is literally magic. I swear you can wear their skinny jeans day after day and they never stretch out. Never! Plus, they’re nice and fitted but somehow still magically the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn. This is my second pair of Madewell skinnies and I am addicted.
Let’s circle back on this top, shall we? Because someone finally made a peasant top with flattering sleeves and I feel like that deserves a paragraph all to itself. I loved this top the second I spotted it, but I kind of figured it wouldn’t be very flattering– this style rarely is on me–and then low and behold, it was! It’s a new favorite, that much is sure. My mom has a real thing for blue onion, so of course I’ve always loved anything even remotely resembling that print. And this top just sings blue onion…
Mom would be so proud…
