I know it’s not Thanksgiving until Thursday, but we are in full Holiday mode over here. I’ve pulled out my winter accessories and I’ve pretty much been decking my halls since I got off the plane from Connecticut last week. Don’t you love this time of year? More of everything! More lights, more cocoa, more family…
You know what I don’t have more of? Time.
Oi. The holidays are busy…

For example, I have not actually washed my hair in seven days. SE-VE-EN DA-YS. I know. (Thank goodness for dry shampoo.)
I feel like every single day is one of those throw a hat on and go type days, and then I go and go and gooooo all day. I love winter because you can layer it up with accessories, which are so convenient for those busy days when you don’t have time to fix (or even wash) your hair. A simple pair of jeans and a soft long sleeved tee go from basic and boring, to sporty and put together, just by throwing on a chic wool color block cap and a plaid scarf. The perfect outfit for a day Christmas shopping, and running errands for Thanksgiving. (And I know everyone is all about pom beanies this time of year, but a wool baseball cap is such a fun alternative in winter head wear. Seriously, try it.)
Nordstrom is always my go-to for great accessories, because they have everything and I love the price points, like this great scarf (under $30) and this hat (around $30). Winter accessories make great gifts for the holidays as well, especially if you’re shopping for a fashion lover, but you’re unsure and fit and size. A scarf, a great handbag, or a fun hat make the perfect thoughtful gift.
And speaking of running around, these booties arrived last week while I was out of town and I took them for a test drive over the weekend. Holy comfortable! Wore them all day right out of the box and not a sore foot or a blister to speak of. Plus I got tons of compliments. Nordstrom has a ton of great booties right now, and these are still on sale and in stock in every size.
