So yeah… this is not Arizona.
If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile you probably know that Mr and I, well we’ve kind of been gypsies. In the not quite ten years we’ve been married, we’ve lived in Idaho, Kansas, Idaho again, Utah, Arizona, Washington, and Arizona again. Average that out, it’s almost a move every year. For awhile it was fun moving all around the west, getting to know so many different places, and getting to meet so many people. But the whole time we had this dream. It was a little dream, and one we hardly ever talked about out loud, because honestly, neither of us knew if it would ever really happen. When my dad retired, he and my mom moved from California to a tiny valley in Northern Utah. It had been their dream for years, and because my family is super tight all of my siblings followed them there. That is, except for me. (gypsy remember) I spent a decade wandering around the west while we took job offers, and opportunities all over the place. We visited in the summer and at holidays, but it was always too short and we always lived too far away for my taste. I didn’t know if that would ever change, until suddenly this spring the time came. God smiled down on our hopes, there was an opportunity to move, and everything fell into place. Our house sold in a week, and before I could really wrap my brain around it, we had moved our little family yet again. I hope for the last time…
Packing our house up was a bit of an ordeal (understatement–where did we get so much stuff??) And let me tell you, that drive from Phoenix to Cache Valley was about a billion times worse when your caravan involves a 26 foot Uhaul pulling a 12 foot trailer, our Honda Pilot packed to the max, and my dad’s truck with boxes stacked literally 6 feet high off the bed. We looked like the Clampits and no joke. But thank goodness for my darling parents who drove all the way down to help us because seriously, moving is the worst.
And now, clothes!
This outfit is more fall than spring, but it is so much colder here than it was in AZ (like 50 degrees colder), and these were literally the only warmish clothes I could manage to dig out of the pile of boxes in our bedroom since I am an idiot and only threw lightweight Arizona spring clothes into my suitcase during the chaos that was packing up our home down south. I forgot how long it takes spring to show up in Utah.
Next time I decide to completely change my life, I should probably think ahead…
And that, my friends, is that.
dear Cori, welcome to Cache Valley :) it’s really cold here :)

Wow, another move! Sounds like a good one though, glad you’ll be able to spend more time with your family now.
How exciting :)
Hey, good for you!
I am excited for you and jealous at the same time, I miss C.V.! I bet you’ll love having your sisters around. Love the outfit!
My goodness, I LOVE this outfit, you look gorgeous! I love your boots!
Congrats on the move! I know how it is to move all over the West and FINALLY get to settle. Except our last move was from Utah to AZ. Good luck and enjoy living by your family.
I’m so glad that everything fell into place and your little dream has become a reality, especially since it’s close to family. Moving is terrible, we did it a few weeks ago and wondered where we got all of “this stuff” from, but I guess that happens when your family grows. I also thought I never want to move again, haha. We are currently living with my in-laws until our new house closes, and on more than one occasion I’ve thought, “what was I thinking when I packed this”, so I can completely relate to you only packing Arizona weather clothing. Moving is a whirlwind.
yay for being back in northern utah!! it is the place to be :) can’t wait to see your new home!
so glad to have you in utah!!!
YOu are brave Cori. We are thinking about moving. The cost of living here in Vancouver is crazy and we are both working like dogs for what??? But the thought of moving scared the shit out of me. We have friends, a social life, my son has little friends. I just can’t imagine leaving this all behind, but then the stress of living here isn’t all that great either. How do you do it? I’ve been following your blog for almost a year and you guys have moved a couple of times. How do you do it?

So glad God brought you where you wanted to be!!!! That is exciting and you will have so much fun being near your family. And glad the move went well….despite the COLDER weather :-).
Mesa has always looked beautiful on your blog, and I was constantly jealous of the fab weather you always seemed to have, but whenever I come across any news about the area (you know what I’m saying…just heard some more today) it really scares me. Just wanted to say that I’m glad you and your family are in a safer location.
Congrats! Cache valley is beautiful. Glad you found some roots for your gypsie wings. :) (I realize I have never commented but I always read your blog. I love your style. And now you get to share utah with your family. It’s beautiful here. You won’t want to leave)
