Sweater: Loft. Skirt: J Crew.(on sale now!) Tights: Nine West. (old. similar here and here) Shoes: Ross. (loving these slingbacks) |
I wore tights to church on Sunday, even though it was 84 degrees. Partly because I’m excited that I have enough of a waist again to wear tights, and partly because it’s almost December, and dang it, I want to wear tights and I don’t care what the weather has to say about it. Luckily, they have the AC cranked so high in our church, (you know, so none of the hormonal pregnant women overheat) that it actually kind of feels like winter for those 3 hours.
Having it be so bloody warm still makes it hard for me to feel like Christmas is really coming, which is a shame, because this is one of my favorite times of year. I suppose I could put up my Christmas decorations and that would help, but that also involves a lot of digging through boxes in my hot garage, and I just can’t get there. Not yet.
This is my dilemma. I want to be decorated for Christmas, I don’t want to do the decorating. I’m sure I’ll feel differently once I get started, but right now the thought of manually fluffing all those branches on my giant artificial tree just makes me want a nap.
BTW,
My third little just walked up to me and said “Mom, this doesn’t go in the garbage, silly silly one.” Then indignantly held up part of a toy in his chubby little fist.
This doesn’t really have anything to do with this post, but I feel that something that cute should be shared.
You are looking really fantastic!! And I say weather be damned! Wear tights when you wanna!

Love the tights!
You look great! Love the patterned tights!
Do you ever have problems with Loft sizing? Sometimes they fit, and sometimes even the XXS Petites are gigantic on me. Makes me so sad because they are so cute!
Beautiful, as always! I am also the mother of a newborn (and a 4 & 6 year old) and find it a bit of a challenge to look put-together while also wearing a breast-feeding friendly outfit. Do you have this struggle? I’d LOVE for you to do a post about this. I find that I avoid so many of my favorite tops because I can’t easily access for breastfeeding. And dresses seem to be out of the question. Please help! :)
Ditto, Colette! Cori has the “stylish mama” thing down pat and practical nursing-friendly style tips from a 4-time mom would be awesome!
I have a 4-month old and I’m back at work and pumping. I made a tragic error of wearing a dress last week that could not be easily disengaged from the top only (it was all or nothing). Thankfully there was a good lock on the door of the room I used, but it could have gotten real awkward, real quick.
Cheers!

Ahhh, I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy that Bow sweater yest when it was 50% off at Loft. Some of the reviews said the bow was too big & that scared me off. It looks perfect on you though.
I feel you on the fluffing! I wanted to call and cuss you out yesterday, when I found out that it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to fluff the tree you so kindly left with us. Um, I’m thinking 3 hours, plus rashes up and down my arms, and hands. (sensitive skin, not your fault:) Plus, the lights! Oh, the millions of lights!! I’m tired of the tree today, and haven’t even started to think about decorating!! I know yours will be gorg. As you are, always. Beautiful, and skinny, and skinny. I loved your Thanksgiving table too!! Wow!! Wonderful job to all involved. Kudos to Craig for being an awesome builder. And, I can only imagine the gourmet feast that followed. How I miss you and all your loveliness. . . .
You look great! Tights and all!
I’m with Colette….any advice for breast-feeding friendly outfits.
Your are looking gorgeous…and I love those tights!
Love the sweater…and those tights are fab!
You look fantastic in those tights!
Love this outfit! I need some tights like these. :)
You look amazing, but I think you are nuts to wear that on an 84 degree day! I hate sweating, runny makeup, smelly shoes…all of that stuff that comes with hot weather. And to us in the NE, 84 is hot weather!
That sweater looks better on you than it does on the model on the Loft website. Seriously! Anyways, I’m 4’11” and my 3 kids are as tiny as their mom so we have a lifetime of stepstools and hemming too. Plus, I get asked daily when I’m out with my littles if I’m their sister. My 11 yo is nearly as tall as me!
You look great and those tights are to die for!!!
