I feel like I should begin this post by saying that I am well aware just exactly how large I am getting up front, since everybody I come across lately seems intent on telling me. I feel like shouting, “I’m 4 feet not quite 11, for crying out loud, the baby has to go somewhere!” I don’t, of course. I just nod and say something like, “Yeah, I know. I’m huge.”
Since I’m at it, I might as well further disclose that I went to the doctor yesterday, and while she was manhandling my midsection she complimented me on how soft and supple my stomach is. Well, pin a gold star on my ever expanding belly! That’s every woman’s dream, to hear how squishy her abdomen has become. That pilates for pregnancy that I’ve been doing religiously is full of crap. My abs, they don’t feel nothing like steel. Just ask my doctor, she knows.
Let’s talk about something else.
Like heathered gray v-neck tees. And how every one on the planet should have one. Especially one of the soft, comfy, boyfriend variety that you can snag at Target for $8.
This is how you cope when it’s 102 degrees on October 1st and you’re 8 months pregnant.
Anyways, I really love pairing a simple gray tee with crisp white pants. It makes the gray pop, which it usually doesn’t do. And speaking of my pants… if you are interested to know how I am pulling off an entire pregnancy sans maternity pants, this is my secret.

Tell us your trousers secret!, I started using pregnant pants since 2 months pregnancy. There are some elastic bands to hold the trousers, is that your secret? It didn’t confortable for me.

You look amazing! Sometimes I really wonder what people are thinking when they say things like that to pregnant women! Especially women- they should know better! The other day some woman at church leaned over to me and asked when I was due (November 12th) and replied “Oh my gosh you’re huge! You’re going to have a BIG baby.” How do you even respond to that? lol! Thanks?

Im a big fan of the Bebands too! They were my savior when I was preg. None of the maternity jeans fit me(yes even the exp. petite maternity)! So i just wore regular pants with the beband :-D

I taught high school when I was pregnant with my daughter. Once a high school girl asked “Are you sure you’re not having twins?” I was polite but I cursed her in my mind to have that question asked to her every day she was pregnant. She’ll learn.

That outfit looks fantastic! Another option for the “Wow, you’re huge!” type comments from strangers (or friends if they have a good sense of humour) could be to feign surprise – like “Oh my goodness, where did that come from? Thank you so much for telling me, I had no idea!”. If said with enough earnestness and wide eyes, by the time they realise you were probably being a tad sarcastic you’ll be off on your merry way.
if this makes you feel better about the pilates- as i was pushing my son out, my doctor actually stopped and asked me midpush if i did pilates. i said yes. she said she was impressed. it took me three pushes and out he came. so. and, also, i’m 5’2” and my belly was not steel like at all… at all.
