Have you noticed that my posting has become rather sporadic as of late? My apologies for that.
I always have the best of intentions for the blog, but having three littles, growing a fourth, and starting my own clothing label have kept me more busy than I could have possibly imagined.
Despite the sometimes overwhelming busyness, however, this whole adventure has been so much fun. Even pregnant. I have been overwhelmed by all the response on my summer skirts, and let me just say, I am feverishly working on fall right now, and oh my goodness, it’s going to be awesome. Epic even.
Moving on.
Can we talk about this dress for a minute?
Let me tell you something, I’m not generally a fan of maternity clothes okay?
Even from stores I love (ahem, Loft) I think they are super ugly. They’re either awkwardly blousey or made of knit.
And I’m sorry, but those pants…
But this dress, I love.
Made by the lovely Indie Maternity designer Madeleine Simon, it’s a dress that just makes me happy. First of all Madeleine is like this uber gorgeous Swede who has two delicious little children, and she’s all about designing pieces that women can feel fabulous and extraordinary in, while also staying comfortable. Which, as you may know, is imperative when you’re with child.
I decided on the Adina dress in Taupe because it’s super versatile, it can be dressed up or down, and I sort of died when I saw the knotted detail around the bust.
This is what I love about indie designers. You can tell they obsess over every little detail.
Which is exactly what I thought when I got the dress.
Someone spent time making sure every detail on this dress was just right, and then made it comfortable.
And it is by the way.
Unbelievably so.
I felt like I was in lounge clothes all through church. Except I was wearing red lipstick and a pretty dress that even the teenage girls seemed to think was lovely.
Teenage girls complimenting a maternity dress?
That’s something.
Should you like to procure your own lovely dress to cover your beautifully growing belly, you will find it here.
Read all about Madeleine here. (But try not to get jealous, like I did. The woman is like seriously beautiful.)
