saturday in the city.

Skirt: Gap Maternity (old) T-shirt: Express. Sweater/Shoes: Target. Necklace:The  Vintage Pearl. Purse: thrifted.

I’m sorry but I cannot stop cracking up at Ethan’s faces in these pictures.  This is how the kid handles getting in trouble, so seriously.  Little jolly delicious terd.
On Saturday we went into the city to scout out locations for our upcoming photo shoot this weekend.  I’ve got a bunch of lovely designs coming in the next little while, and since I no longer have a waist, or much of one, my little sister is flying out from Utah to be our model.  I’ve definitely got ulterior motives, because I’ll pretty much do anything to hang out with my sisters, and also she’s bringing my niece who may or may not be the most adorable 1.5 year old on the planet.
(she is.)
Also, my sister is gorgeous and I can’t wait to see how amazing she’s going to look in these shots because she’s about a million times more photogenic than me, and infinitely more comfortable in front of the camera.
Seattle is like a treasure box of fantastic photography locations.  It’s one of those cities. Interesting, gorgeous, full of awesome little nooks and alleyways, cobblestone streets, funky shops, markets, restaurants, and lined with thousands of trees.
Incidentally, this is also what makes it a fantastic way to spend a Saturday.  Even the littles love going downtown.  Especially if we do the Pike’s place flower walk.  There’s got to be about 800,000 flowers in a two block area.  I wish I could describe the smell.  Amazing.  I may or may not have looked like a bit of a kook stopping half a dozen times just to take it in, but seriously it smells that good.
Anyways, the only downside was all the crazies we happened upon during our jaunt.  I usually don’t mind all the colorful characters you run into in a city, but when the littles are with me I turn into a bit of a momma bear.  You know what I’m talking about, “if you take one step closer to my offspring I’m going to transform into a lioness and wail on you.”  Or some such thing.
I think this goes back to last summer when we were living downtown for a few weeks, and a paranoid schizophrenic homeless man chased me and the littles a mile down the street screaming the worst kind of profanities you can imagine the entire time.  Seriously.  My ears are still burning.
Now I just bring my back-off or I’ll hit you face with me, and we’re good.
Which Mr. informed me looks something like this:

aren’t you intimidated?

PS. check out how the beautiful Rachel from Pink Peonies is rocking the red Awning skirt today.

And speaking of new designs, I’m rolling out the Chevron Skirt in the next couple days, for those of you who’ve been waiting. Check it out again here.

  2. Yay for the chevron skirt! I still haven’t made up my mind on which color I like….so I might hold out until I see the chevron colors.

Don’t you just love The Vintage Pearl? I’ve got several gifts for my mother there and last year my husband gave me their Messy Nest necklace. So sweet!
