snow day– er, days.

Sweater, Skirt: The Loft.  Striped Shirt: Forever21.  Boots: Aldo.  Tights: Ross. Colorblock Scarf: Old Navy.

The littles haven’t been to school at all this week.

When it snows in Seattle the city shuts down.

And when I say shuts down, I mean down.

I thought that this was maybe a bit extreme until all the ice from the freezing rain started dropping tree branches down on homes and power lines.

And also, a significant amount of the roads (read most) go unplowed.

So yeah, maybe we should just stay in.

I was worried that I might go a little stir crazy being holed up in the house all week, but it’s been divine.  Since running errands was all but out of the question, I’ve had ample time to clean my house, do laundry, and sew to my heart’s content.

The littles have divided their time between playing in the backyard’s snowy wonderland, doing chores for mom, projects at the kitchen table, setting up tents in the loft, watching movies, playing games, make-believe, etc. etc.

No wondered they’ve cheered every morning when I tell them that once again it’s another snow day.

stay warm all.

We’ve had a lot of snow here too! I don’t have kids, but it still means lots of days in with the hubs. ;-)

  11. Sounds cozy! I almost envy you except that I don’t think I could do snow, I’m a Texas girl at heart, warm days are what I live for. Well at least a nice warm winter, but not the evil summers we get! ha ha Enjoy the SNOw!

My power just came on and I am so happy!!!! We had a fun, cold adventure at our house. Seattlites get made fun of all the time for our snow issues, but it’s hard to drive on roads that are covered in ice with fallen power lines and trees. :)
