Thank you for hanging out in my sewing room with me last night. I can’t imagine how bored you must get while I’m sprawled out all over the floor designing a new pattern, but I love having you close by. Love the way your brow furrows when you’re concentrating on something. Love the way your hand curves when you write; I never learned how to do that properly which is probably one of many reasons your handwriting is better than mine.
And yesterday, while I was slicing the red onions for dinner, and you chopping away at the pineapple, and (thank goodness) not your fingers, I looked up at you, and even through my burning watery eyes you were so cute and so funny, I thought to myself, “I couldn’t love anything more.”
Thank you for today. Thank you for taking a long lunch so you could go to that meeting with me, especially since those kinds of things really intimidate me. But when you’re next to me, I feel like I can do anything. And because of you, I can.
Thank you for suggesting we go snap a few pictures afterward, so we don’t have to worry about it tonight, especially because it gets dark, like really early in Seattle.
I haven’t done everything right in my life, but I picked the right spouse. Someone I admire, someone who’s interesting, who works hard, who’s brilliant, who’s kind to me.
patience and kindness.
That’s the recipe for love.
And you have both in spades.
That’s why 8 years later, I’m still crazy about you.
so beautiful Cori. I loved this post! I also agree, our Seattle weather, it gets dark so fast. Today was amazing though, just gorgeous although pretty crisp/cold! I love how in love you are with your man, just love it!
this is wonderful! i hope in 8 yrs i am writing similar posts about my husband… we’re a year and a half in to marriage (almost 6 yrs together total)… but im still crazy about him!!
This post is absolutely beautiful! You almost made me cry! (I just got engaged this weekend, so my mushmeter is way up anyways.) I love when I have those serene moments.
This is a great look as well. Love the purple scarf and I am continually jealous of your hair.
my husband and i have been married for just under 2 years, but i only hope after 8 or 12 or 20 we still feel this exact same way about eachother…you explained things perfectly :)
This skirt reminds me of Elaine’s from Clothed Much! It looks adorable and I am so glad you feel this way about your Mr. We are 12+ years now and every day I wonder how I got so lucky!!!
