today.

At the end of church today, a little girl got up to say the closing prayer.

 She said:

“Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for today.”

The words struck me right to the core.

What a beautiful thought.

Thank you for today.

What if that was enough for all of us?

What if every morning we all got out of bed, knelt down on the floor and just thanked our Maker for today?

That we weren’t waiting for happiness to come with that new car, or new pair of boots, or a trip to Europe, or buying a house, or being debt free, or getting the bathroom cleaned, etc. etc…

Because really each day with it’s innumerable opportunities is gift enough…

Thank you, for today.

You’re totally right. It’s always about tomorrow or the next big thing – never about the days that you need to go through to get there. It’s important to give thanks for the day.

Cute pictures :) Comfy clothes on weekends are the best!

Your little girl has your exact same face. So cute!

Yes, indeed. The other day I read on a friend’s Fb post “What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?” It made me think deeply about the content and sincerity of my prayers.

    Beautiful post. :)
