intriguing.

Pants: Bitten by SJP (thrifted and pinkified by me).  Blazer, Belt: Thrifted. Striped Shirt: Ross.  Shoes: Nine West (via Ross).  Brooch: The Loft.  Ring, Watch: Target.

Mr. loves it when I do my hair this way.

I can’t for the life of me understand why.

To me, it looks all messy and disheveled; like I didn’t really fix my hair.  Of course, the opposite of this is true, and since I spilled the beans and told you all the truth about my frizzy hair, you too can appreciate that I actually spent a great deal of time getting my hair to look this messy.  It reminds me of some Dolly Parton (I think) quote I read a few years back.  It said something to the effect of “you have no idea how much it costs to look this trashy…”  blah blah blah.  I hate that quote.  But it still kind of makes me laugh.

In reality, I probably love this hair style as much as Mr. but for different reasons.  After I spend the 45 minutes it takes to get the beast (and by beast, I mean my hair) straight, I just grab a mini claw clip and kind of gather it back on the nape of my neck.  It falls out approximately 200 times during the day, but it takes about 2 seconds to put it back in, and it keeps my hair out of my face all day.  Win, win.

Now lets talk about the pants.

They’re pink.  Like bright pink.

I was on the fence on the colored pants thing for probably the last 4 months.  Probably because the only colored pants I saw were skinnified, unflattering numbers that looked faded even when they were brand new.

But then I started seeing all these fantastic wide leg trousers in an array of colors popping up all over Pinterest.  And I was hooked.

Specifically with the bright pink wide-leg trousers.

I had to have me some.

But it turns out, wide-leg hot pink trousers are hard to come by.  (Shocking, I know)  And really expensive when you do find them, not to mention the fact that finding pants that actually fit me is like finding a needle in a haystack.  In other words: wanting something too specific on the bottom half of my body is futile; I have to take what I can get, that fits.

After a few unsuccessful shopping trips (online and in store) it became apparent that finding the perfect pair of wide leg pink pants just wasn’t in the cards for me.  Usually I would just chalk it up to being too short, and move on.

But I had really gotten my heart set on those pants.

So I got creative.

Which is pretty much a must have quality if you are super petite, and also care about how you dress.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

(These pants weren’t pink when I bought them.)

Intrigued?

Come back Thursday, and I’ll show you how to transform a regular pair of white pants into something fabulously fuchsia.

    I like your hair too.

I like what you did with the flower tying it in to the color of your pants.

Also I agree about finding skinny jeans everywhere and I didn’t want skinny pants. I already had my red ones but for other pants in general.

Finding pants that fit me is also very hard.

  10. A striped shirt seems to be one of the more common accompaniments to bright pants for this EBEW, and your example of this is great! Definitely adding your blog to my Google Reader so I can come back and find out your secret to Perfectly Pink Pants.

As a fellow petite fashionista, I NEED TO KNOW HOW YOU GOT PINK WIDE LEG PANTS!!!!!! I have to shorten every single pair of pants I find, even to be able to wear heels with them. And by “I” have to, I mean my mom. Because I haven’t perfected that skill yet (but I can sew a mean button).

A few people are commenting on how they have to hem their pants. I’d have to say I’d much rather be shorter and have to hem pants than not be able to find them long enough. Letting out the hem has not worked yet and it’s always noticeable. Being able to hem it would be so much nicer.

PS My red pants are long enough to wear with heels. That’s why I love Victoria’s Secret. Mine are 36″ inseam. What inseam do you guys wear that you need to hem all your pants?
