Yesterday, I wrote a post wherein I wrote the word “where” when I really meant to write the word “wear.”
When someone (thanks Emma!) finally let me in on the mistake I laughed out loud for like 10 minutes.
Okay, not that long, but you get the point.
Which is, that I was in a hurry yesterday morning, and I didn’t check my own writing.
Ironically,
I’m an English major.
But I’m also a busy mom, and sometimes that means there are typos in my posts, because sometimes I’m writing them in a flurry before all 3 kids wake up and the day goes all crazy and hectic. This is life as a mother. It’s messy sometimes. No matter how much you think you’ll have it all together when you’re a parent. How you will never take your child to the store with chocolate on his shirt, or yell at your kids or have your house be messy when someone shows up unexpectedly. It will happen. And sometimes, you’ll have a really pretty outfit planned with a nice pair of wedges and a blouse, and then you’ll remember that you have to wash the car, and take the kids school shopping, and make a quick run to Ikea, and take the kids to the school to meet their new teachers, and mail some stuff, and etc etc, and you rethink those heels and swap them instead for a casual sweater and a pair of cropped jeans. And that’s cool too.
Fashion should also be appropriate to the circumstances, eh?
And ps. I left the typo in, cause its the imperfections that make life memorable.
I really hate when people get funny about typos, who cares if we make a few mistakes every now and again, it happens. I’m a PR girl so I’m big on my spelling and grammar but I still make mistakes because I have a life outside of blogging, believe it or not. Love your last line, so true.
I recently caught up with a high school friend on facebook. I discovered she is an aerospace physics professor at Brigham Young University. Obviously, she is extremely intelligent. On one of my posts I used our instead of are. I know the difference! Once again, it was a comment rushed because of the busy mom situation. But I was embarrassed!
I can’t believe I didn’t catch that! And um, you seem really put together to me! I love how all of your pictures go perfectly with what you just said haha, your posts are my favorite.
Yesterday, I received an email in which the sender confused witch and which. I am totally not immune to typos, but that one cracked me up. Life happens and sometimes typos do too : )
I totally agree about dressing for the circumstances. I’m all about looking cute, but fashion needs to be practical. That’s part of the challenge, to look chic and fashionable but workable for our day-to-day activities. So kudos for you for going for practical. (Although you still look majorly cute!)
Love the outfit! I had get the target shirt as soon as I could. You are my fav fashionista! :) As for typos… that is the story of my life. just take a look at my blogs they are all over the place keeping it interesting.
