what I wore when…

Skirt: made by me (buy it here), Blouse: The Loft.  Shoes: Target.  Necklace and Earrings: Walmart (shhhh.)
A few weeks ago I read a post by Ashley aka Little Miss Momma, about how she remembered where everything in her closet came from and also what she was wearing at every major event in her life. It got me thinking.  I can totally name where pretty much everything in my closet is from.  And I remember everything I was wearing at each important moment in my life.  This can be a blessing and a curse.  For instance, I still regret the overalls and red shirt I was wearing the first time I met my husband.  Yes, overalls.  Disgusting.  In my defense, they were in style back then, I promise.  And I just dated myself.  I also regret the faded jeans and bright pink t-shirt I was wearing when he asked me to marry him.  If I had known it was going to be that day, I totally would have put more effort into my outfit.  But I still love the wool trousers and white button up I was wearing when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby, and my senior ball dress was beyond dreamy.  And this is what I wore when Mr. Husband walked across the stage and got his MBA.  I figured, a really amazing moment deserves a great skirt.  I’m glad I stayed up till 1a.m. the night before so that I was wearing something I really loved when I look back on that day, which was, in a word, superb.

  1. Cori, I love it!!! I still remember what I was wearing when Ash asked me…Gym cloths. Yep, he picked me up from the gym and took me right to the place… he said he wanted to ‘show me something.’ He surprised me alright. Sweaty hair, and blue spandex shorts, what’s a girl to do:) Ha ha…

LOVE this skirt! Just curious as to who takes these fabulous photos of you? Sounds like we’re pretty close to the same size. I’m 4’11”, size 1 pants, and 5.5 shoe…makes it pretty hard to find decent adult clothing…but I DO love Ann Taylor Loft! Love all your outfits!

    Lindsay, thank you!
Marie- My fantastic husband takes 99% of my photos, sometimes when he’s working late or traveling on Business I take them with a tripod and a timer, but they are never quite as good. And ps, I love finding other size twins! Ann Taylor Loft is a HEAVEN SENT! (I was just in there today in fact, haha)

Leah, I am the exact same way, I remember all these tiny insignificant details and the really important stuff is just gone. So frustrating.

Anna, I can make it any size you want, so if you want to go an inch or so small I could do that. Also, you have a little bit of room on the size with the hook and eye on the waistband.
