all tied up.

Husband’s Tie: IZOD, Boyfriend Blazer: Thrifted, White Tuxedo Shirt: Old Navy, Pencil Skirt: Old Navy, Skinny Belt: Thrifted, Navy Tights: Ross, Shoes: Target

Sometimes you wake up in the morning and you just know that you are going to wear your husband’s tie.
Today was one of those days.

In my defense, I have actually been wearing his ties since we first got married.  (That was 7.5 years ago, by the way)  What can I say?  I ‘m a sucker for a girl in men’s clothing.  Especially when that girl is, ahem, me.  And his ties are about the only thing that (semi) fit me as the hubbs is a healthy foot taller than me.

I hope menswear never-ever-ever goes out of style.  But seriously, why would it?  It’s like, the best most flattering thing ever. (Insert valley girl accent)  I informed the husband of my opinion on the way home from church, and he responded that he thinks it really goes both ways, there are lots of women’s clothing styles that could work for men too.  Hahahahaha.  I love it when he makes fun of my style theories.

But back to the tie.  I realize that probably half the people at church today, thought I was either a. nuts, or b. nope -just nuts.  The rest of them, I’m sure loved my tie.  At least that’s what I tell myself, but I don’t actually care.  If you are going to wear something like a tie, you have to wear it all the way, no apologies.

So I wore that green tie to church today.  Bouya.  And then Mr. Second Born Child decided that he was waaaaaaaay too hot to stay in his button up,tie and sweater on the way home from church and proceed to strip himself naked from the waist up before we had exited the church parking lot. (window rolled down and everything) Yes that’s me, the mom with the nakey kid.  Awesome.
Oh and I’m licking the beaters from the mixer. The hubbs is making oatmeal cookies, the little dear… I know, I’m wearing ties to church, Craig is baking cookies. There’s serious role reversal going on in here.

I’m so distinguished.
Well, almost.

Haha, what a cute post. I love the tie! It looks so great on you! I agree about the no apologies. I’m glad you wore it proud :) Maybe I’ll the try the tie look, too. It’s also the only thing of my husband’s that would fit me since he too is a healthy foot (and a tad more) taller than me!

I love that you took the blazer and really played up the menswear. It looks great on you and still not at all manly! Very feminine.
