Yesterday afternoon my sister and I stopped in at a small cafe off main street to get a cup of cocoa. We sat at a table next to the window, it was a breezy day and the leaves on the tree outside were tossing back and forth in the wind and sending bits of sunlight and shadow dancing across the top of our table. “Look how pretty that is,” I said. We stopped talking and watched for a minute and then my sister said, “I feel like everyday should have at least one moment of wonder and amazement, otherwise why are we even here.”
And that got me thinking about how I live my life on a daily basis. How many times do I count a day as kind of a wash. It’s just a laundry day, or an errand day. I’ll just get through it. But really, every day is important, because it’s part of the whole that makes up your life, and sooner or later all those “whatever” days become the tone of it all. Something about the way my sister said that made me want to stop a little more and find reasons to wonder, to laugh a lot more, to wear what I love. I don’t think I want any of my days to ever be a wash.
This is my new design, the first of our fall line out the gate and our very first limited edition. I love this skirt. I spent a lot of time obsessing over every detail of it and now that it’s ready, I adore wearing it. It makes me feel carefree and put together at the same time. I even feel taller when I’m wearing it, and let’s face it, that’s basically a miracle. Happy Wednesday!
Head on over to instagram, we’re giving away a skirt today…
