I’ve been kind of swooning over all the flamingo prints out there this summer and when I spotted this drapey tie blouse, I finally pulled the trigger. Pattern mixing can be a little tricky at times, especially when you’re mixing two loud prints together (like flamingos and stripes, for instance…) One of my tricks for mixing bold prints with confidence is to stick to colors that I know work well together, like pink and navy. The mint bag was kind of a last minute snap decision. We were running out the door to church and the bag I’d originally picked out felt a bit flat once I had everything on. Then suddenly I remembered that mint pretty much goes with everything and makes everything feel fresh, and fun. (I know, that story was edge of your seat gripping…) Anyway, I sort of love how it’s not all match-matchy. I’d gotten into a little match-matchy rut lately, and this outfit really snapped me out of it. Now I’m looking at all the prints in my closet with fresh eyes wondering what kind of interesting combinations I can come up with…
