I went to see my Grandpa a few weeks ago wearing these jeans.  He took one look at me and asked why in the world my jeans had holes all over them.  Then he asked me if I’d been working hard enough to earn those holes.  I don’t know if I’ve worked hard enough to earn them, but I do know that his generation will probably never understand why in the heck we walk around in ripped jeans.  In any case, I have no intention of quitting my boyfriend jeans anytime soon.  They are by far the favorite, most remixed piece in my closet.

Yesterday, I just had a really hard time getting dressed.  My closet kind of hated me, and since I was feeling kind of bummed out I really needed to get dressed if you know what I mean.  Getting dressed is  my zen and when I run into a day where I feel a little down in the mouth the best thing I can do to ward it off is to fix myself up a little bit.  Yoga pants are not my zen spot, pajamas are not my zen spot.  Anyways, one of my tricks for getting dressed on those downer days where the perfect storm of a bad mood and a wardrobe funk seem to meet in the middle, is to go back to basics.  You’d be surprised how chic you can feel in a simple white tee and a pair of distressed jeans.  Throw on some cognac accessories and you’re good to go.

Also, it should be noted that my new watch is made of wood.  Like actual wood.  How straight up awesome is that?  I’ve always a big watch wearer, but oddly since having Ava I’ve kind of hated having anything on my wrist.  Until I put this watch on.  It’s lightweight and well-made, it’s elegant and just funky enough to make my heart sing.

Basically, it’s perfect.

Happy Friday Everyone!

It’s the weekend!
