lumberjack meets NYE

Buffalo shirt. Similar Sequin skirt.  Leopard ClareV. clutch. RayBan Sunglasses. Lace Heels. (c/o Payless.) Similar Denim Jacket.

When I was a kid, I used to come home from school and make myself the same snack every afternoon.  Chili, cranberry sauce, and hot chocolate.

They were all my favorite foods and I pretty much figured, “hey, why not eat them all at the same time?” (Makes sense right?)

I feel like this outfit is the sartorial equivalent of that.  A bunch of my favorite things in one look.  Kind of a lumberjack meets NYE look.

It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, it works.

I love the idea of a kind of dressed-up/dressed-down look for New Years Eve.  Yesterday I showed you my simple but elegant look (which also used the same shoes and clutch) but for this look I wanted it to be a little funky and a ton of fun.  So I paired my red and black buffalo check shirt with my sequin skirt, and a leopard clutch.  I think it makes a really fun buffalo check NYE look.  I’ve been a big fan of print mixing since I started giving it a try several years ago, and every time I find a new combination, it’s like a little win.  I love being a little surprising when I get dressed.

So I guess what I’m really saying here is, don’t be afraid to take risks when you’re getting dressed.  Try something a little crazy, have fun with your closet.  They’re just clothes, make them into your own little statement.

And also, just to reiterate for the umpteenth time, that leopard is a magic print.  It looks cool with everything!
