One of the requests a lot of you had when I asked what you’d like to see on the blog, was for more “look for less” type posts. Basically, I find great alternatives to your favorite designer pieces. I love this kind of thing, so I jumped right in. Today, I’m starting with the white eyelet/lace summer dress. There are so many pretty white dresses out this year. I love all the eyelet and lace I’m seeing everywhere, but some of the pieces I’ve found are super spendy. I love a pretty dress as much as the next girl, but I’m not sure I’d pay over $300 for one unless it was for a special occasion. Plus, I wanted something easy I could literally slip on when it’s super hot and humid outside and run errands or take my kids to the park and not worry about it.
So I went on the hunt, and found some great alternatives to some of my favorite designer pieces. Here’s the inspiration below.
I love this amazing eyelet dress I found at Nordstrom. It’s super lightweight and comfortable without being sheer, so I don’t need any additional layers right now (bonus in this heat) and I love that it comes in petites and is on sale for only $47. Some of the reviews were mixed on it, and I don’t really know why, I think its a super cute, comfy and flattering summer dress. (I ordered it in an XSP)
Next came this amazing straw bag. This medium version (pictured here) is sold out right now, but I linked to the small versionwhich I love just as much. (I kind of want one in both sizes, is that bad?) Anyway, the quality is great and so is the cost. It’s around $100 for both the small and medium. Not bad, considering the Prada straw bagruns at about $1400.
Last, the sandals. It looks like Valentino rock studs aren’t going anywhere any time soon, and I do love the style, these cute studded flipflopsare a great alternative and they run less than $20.
So there you have it! A white summer dress look for less.
