You guys. I found the perfect fall dress. Actually, I found the perfect-transition-to-any-season dress and I am obsessed…
I’ve always loved the dress styles of the late 30’s and 40’s and the silhouette on this one feels like such a nod to that. Actually, most shirt dresses have that feel to me, and in my humble opinion, you cannot go wrong with a good classic vintage inspired silhouette. It makes everyone look timeless. And if there’s one thing a women wants to be, it’s timeless.
The color olive has always been one of my favorites, it’s such a warm, rich hue, but a drapey shirt dress with military patch pockets and a vintage silhouette, well–go ahead and enlist me. I felt so glamorous and classic in this dress, plus it’s super comfy and could be dressed up with pumps like I did here with these fun leopard kicks, or down with a pair of booties or some great flats.
One of the reasons I love olive is that its a season-less color. I could easily wear this dress in the winter with the right layers and a good thick pair of tights, in the spring paired with something light (like soft pink!) or in the summer uber-casual. Right now, I’ve got fall on the brain and so I’m thinking about all the ways to remix this baby through the golden weeks ahead (think booties, denim jackets and lots of plaid scarfs…) I’m thinking it would even be pretty as a Thanksgiving day frock…
