This time of year is basically a constant mad dash.  From the beginning of birthday season in October until New Years, I feel like life speeds up to triple it’s usual pace, especially with four kids, a business to run and a baby to chase, and I’m lucky if I stop twice a day for a good deep breath.  I don’t think this is a good or healthy way to be.  Last night, I called a time out, and me, Mr. and the littles spent the entire evening decorating our Christmas tree.  They did such a great job this year trimming the branches with ornaments.  I love to watch them grow bigger and more capable.  It’s simultaneously one of the most wonderful and heartbreaking experiences of motherhood.  Sometimes I just with they’d stay little forever, but then, I love the little people they are becoming too…

This is such a typical outfit for me right now.  I’m really into plaid this season, I don’t know why, but I can’t get enough of it.  And puffer vests.  I’m so glad I never got rid of this one.  Anyways, I’m always hefting a baby, or boxes, or rolls of fabric, or spreading patterns or something or other these days, and I find myself in a pair of cropped pants and a button-up more often than not.  I’m cool with that.  Life is about seasons, and I’m in a working one… although, I need warmer shoes.  Ladies of the colder climates, what the “h” do you wear on your feet when the weather is frigid and wet, that still maintains some level of style?  Please, share.  I’ve got riding boots and Hunter Wellies, but really what else?
