Can I just start by saying thank you to all of you! Yesterday was an amazing day. AH-mazing. I was nervous (for obvious reasons) about launching a kickstarter, and also about sharing a video with me actually speaking in it. (Stupid irrational fear– hearing my voice on a recording.) And seriously, I couldn’t believe the response and all the kind words about our new line. I was doing the happy dance all day. Yes, the actual happy dance. I’m a nerd. I’m also really so excited to finally have these pieces out there for the world to see. They’ve been brewing in my head, and working their way to fruition for so long having them finally be real, well, it feels really good. ;-)

So a little about this dress… The inspiration for this dress came from my obsession with Italy’s Amalfi coast and the resort island of Capri. I love the Italian coastal towns, all stacked with bright colored buildings, and right on that crystal colored water’s edge. Anytime I wear stripes I feel like I belong by the ocean, and since I’m forever a California girl at heart, by the ocean is always where I’d like to be. There are so many things that inspire my designs– colors and shapes, places and people. Doesn’t matter where I am, when I put on this dress, I am there. Right there, walking the cobblestone streets of someplace lovely, and breathing that fresh salty air.
