I realize that there are approximately ten billion pictures in this post. #sorrynotsorry. Yesterday was perfect. And I needed it. I’ve been in a fog for a long time. It’s been parting slowly over the last few months, but yesterday, yesterday it was like the fog never even was. My soul felt good and right and happy. I think we all felt that way, flying kites on the shoreline. Letting the cool Pacific waters touch my toes, not worrying about all the sand Ava was getting in her hair, clothes, and mouth. Running and playing and snacking and just being. Last year taught me to worry, more than any other year I’ve ever lived. But yesterday, I didn’t worry about a thing. This is why we get away. Why we go to places that make us feel whole again. To remember who we really are, even when life has made us forget. Yesterday, on the calm Oregon coastline, I remembered.
“Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.”
