Pants: J.Crew. Shirt: Everlane. (old. similar here.) Shoes: Asos. (also similar here.) Necklace: Loft. (similar.) Sunglasses: Kate Spade. (on sale thru august 2)

Linen and silk is one of my favorite combinations for summer.  Both are so light weight and breezy, even in  a full length pant and long sleeves, I never feel warm.  Everlane has been my go-to for silk tops since I discovered them a few years ago, and every piece I’ve purchased from them has held up beautifully.  Plus, I love how socially conscious the brand is, and how they focus on creating quality wardrobe staples at a disruptive price.  When they started, they really only offered luxe t-shirts, but they’ve really expanded in the last couple years and now they offer quite a smorgasbord of great wardrobe basics.

Love silk, but hate the dry cleaning. I also hate the idea of guessing on a size to buy and wondering how much it will shrink when I hand wash. I think we need a new fabric better than rayon or polyester to replace silk. Anyone? Anyone?

Have you tried Woolite? I too get sick of dry cleaning (the hassle and the cost) and i use Woolite to wash my silk shirts. I’ve never noticed a problem with shrinkage on any of my everlane shirts. But I know what you mean, I’d love a much more washable version of silk because it is suuuuch an amazing fabric.

I’ve been on the lookout for a good silk shirt for sometime…Have you noticed everlane has changes theirs since the beginning? The buttons aren’t hidden on the front, and a few other minor things…it makes me feel a little cheated that I didn’t buy the original! The hunt continues…looking for pure white (not ivory) that isn’t completely see through and fit for us petite girls so the sleeves don’t go down to my fingers. If you see one let me know! (I’ve been looking everywhere I swear, three different ones at Nordstrom, everlane, jcrew, Talbots)

I have noticed that! I just thought they were probably keeping things fresh, but I definitely like the originals better. I feel like it’s super impossible to find silk tops in pure white rather than ivory. I wonder why that is? Maybe the natural fibers?? Both of my ivory blouses are a little see through, I usually but on a cami underneath, but I wish I didn’t have to!
