Did you guys see the blood/super moon/lunar eclipse last night?  We drove up to the top of a hill where there’s a big beautiful golf course to watch it, because it’s Washington and there are trees everywhere blocking our once-in-thirty-years view.  I’ve got to say, it was worth all the traffic to get up there.  Watching the blood moon rise, was really cool.  Almost as cool was seeing how many other people came up to the top of that hill to watch as well.  Sometimes, I feel like we’ve gotten so lost in all our technology and in all these innovations that no one really appreciates anything real any more.  And then I stumble onto a golf course packed with people just standing there waiting for the moon to rise, and it totally restores my faith in humanity.

Speaking of red…

I used to think that the only way for an outfit to work was to pair two different coordinating colors together.  You know, like blue and red, black and green, but I really love putting together an outfit with the same color in different shades.

It looks as though plaid blanket scarves are going to be big again this fall, and I cannot complain about that.  First of all, they’re classic and they instantly make any outfit feeling put together and finished, but they’re also insanely warm and versatile.  For instance, a couple years ago, Craig and I went to NYC in February with Ava (she was 3 months old) and I literally used this exact scarf as a scarf, a hood, a nursing cover, and a swaddling blanket.  It’s a magic scarf.
