Suede Jacket.(also similar here.) Top. Skinny Jeans. Booties. Bag. Sunglasses.
Isn’t it funny how certain trends come out and they literally change your opinion on something. There was a time when I thought suede was just “not my thing,” but it’s such a huge trend this season and there are so many gorgeous pieces that now I’m like, “if it’s suede, sign me up.”
I have no idea what that says about me…
On Sunday while we drove to church, my kids were have a lively discussion about genetics. Yes, you read that right… They were discussing how it is that they all have their sandy blondish-brown color hair (even though Craig and I both have brown). Their favorite topic when it comes to genes is their eye color. They literally never stop getting a kick out of the fact that they all got blue eyes when I have hazel ones, especially now that they’ve learned about dominate and recessive genes. And I never stop getting a kick out of watching them be so excited about something they learned in science. Is this the greatest part of motherhood; watching them discover the world and be fascinated by it? It’s definitely in the running.
Hannah asked me if I like the color of my eyes, and I realized (perhaps for the first time) that yes, I do. I love the color of my eyes, they’re subtly green with flecks of brown and if you look close my iris kind of looks like a flower. I think it’s important to stop and notice things you like about yourself once in awhile, we women are way too critical of ourselves. I’ve also realized that green is one of my power colors. Especially deep fall toned greens like this suede moto jacket.
I’ve been listening to the podcast Happier (so good, by the way) and in one episode they talk about finding your signature color. I don’t know if green is my “signature”, but it’s definitely at least one of my happy colors.
I’ve been really enjoying branching out a little this season with my style; trying things I would normally not try, and it’s been so much fun. Nordstrom is my go-to when I’m looking to try a new trend, because they have so many options and sizes available. And I love that I can always count on the quality. This green moto jacket was a no-brainer and I love how versatile it turned out to be. The fit is also little cropped which is great if you’re petite. It’s the second suede moto jacket I’ve added to my closet this season (the first was a mustard yellow) and I’m really loving adding a little extra pop of color to my fall outerwear. Nordstrom has a ton of pretty colorful options in suede this season, but these moto jackets sell out so fast, so if you see one you love snag it before it disappears. I’m still mourning the jacket I waited too long on during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale…
