no I do.

Sweater/Striped Shirt: The Loft.  Skinny Jeans:Jolt via Nordstrom Rack.  Boots: Target.  Necklace: Thrifted.  Ring: c/o Little Miss Momma.

Sometimes the littles say really funny things.

And sometimes they just keep saying them because they think they make sense, and since I’m their mother and I know all (shhh, don’t tell them otherwise) they do make sense.  To me.

Like the 3rd little for instance.  Whenever Mr. Ethan wants to tell you that he doesn’t do something, instead of saying “No I don’t,” he says “No I do!”  And he always says it with the most endearing little cherubic smile, and the happiest little giggle, in a voice that sounds like a falsetto Mickey Mouse.  And I can’t help myself but pick him up and just maul him with kisses.

So, this sweater.  It’s got a collar made of fur.  I’ve resisted the fur movement for the past couple years because honestly I thought I hated it.  I really did.  I don’t know if it has something to do with being a child in the late 80’s/early 90’s when fur was all the rage, or the fact that fur always looks itchy to me, and also reminds me of some mid-evil lord sitting on his throne ordering his servants to bring him another Cornish game hen and a goblet of something cool and refreshing…

you get the picture.

But then I was in the Loft a couple weeks ago, just browsing the clearance section and one of the saleswomen picked up this vest and handed it to me, suggesting that I try it on.  Honestly, I took it just because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.  But then the thing I thought I was going to love, didn’t look good, and this vest was fabulous, and the fur collar was so soft and practically like wearing a scarf constantly, and we all know my feelings about scarves.

And then.

It was on final sale, for $19.95.

And the Loft was having a “30% off clearance” sale so I snagged this baby for just over $13.

I’m not even going to tell you the original price, but a discount like that is a rarity.

Even for me.

It almost felt like stealing.

Except it didn’t.

Anyways, I’m now slightly obsessed with this vest and keep contemplating all the different ways I’m going to wear it.  Even if, upon closer inspection I do in fact look a bit like a mid-evil lord.

But I no longer hate fur.

No I do.

Now where’s my Cornish game hen?

Love how you styled your vest, I love it in the darker color. I have it in the lighter brown and it changed the way I think about fur too!

  20. I really hope you just love FAUX fur because real fur is completely cruel. If its faux then I love it and if it is not I encourage you to take a look at this blog post (not my own) that sums up a lot of the reason why you should not support real fur. http://fuyume.net/2011/02/why-i-say-no-to-fur.html. I love your posts by the way I just wanted to put the fur thing out there.
