rummy.

Dress: Target.  Sweater: Aeropostale.  Boots: Aldo.  Belt: Mr.’s old work belt.  Umbrella: Ross.

The littles got some card games from their aunt for Christmas, so for the last 2 days they have been playing go fish, crazy eights, old maid, you name it.  The coolest part is how they’re all old enough to finally understand the rules, and play, you know, unassisted.  Even Ethan.

This morning, as I woke up I could hear Mr. out in the living room with Ethan.  They were playing crazy eights.  Whenever Mr. is around the littles follow him around like he’s Elvis.  Especially Ethan.  I can’t blame them.

When they got done, they ran around playing and wrestling a bit, then Mr. told Ethan that he needed to get some stuff done.

This of course was not to be borne.

(just so you’re aware, whenever Ethan talks, his “R”s and “L”s sound like “W”s.  funniest thing ever.)

Ethan: “But, Daaaad.  I want you to pway wummy with me!”

Mr.: “Buddy I don’t know how to play Rummy.”

Ethan: “Siwwy, you just wead the diwections.”

Priceless.

Also, it rained all day yesterday.

My umbrella looks like a giant mushroom.

And this dress is twirly and beyond comfortable.

I love my life.

  7. First of all, I love cute kid talk. I taught a preschool class and asked a kid his name. “My name is Aawwen (Aaron),” and I said mockingly–only because it was so dang cute–“Hi Aawwen!” He shouted in outrage, “My name is AAWWEN not Aawwen!!” I almost died! Secondly, your outfit is totally cute.

That is the most adorable thing, when kids don’t say their letters right. You just wish you could freeze them!

I fell in love with your boots and ended up running over to Aldo and buying a similar version (the Prettner). Thank you for introducing me to Aldo! I have been hunting for boots for 3 years and have always walked past their store!

2 Quick questions: 1) Did you treat your boots before wearing them? 2) If you did treat them, did you use the Aldo leather spray or lotion? If you didn’t, how are they holding up?

    Thank you!

    PS- I love your blog!
