One of the great benefits of getting truly sick is that when you finally feel better the world feels amazing and wonderful and new. And the prospect of catching up on all the stuff that piled up whilst being out of commission for roughly 3 days, actually sounds quite fabulous, because you feel good. And feeling good again after feeling so, so bad is almost euphoric. In other words, there’s a mountain of laundry and other menial tasks waiting for me today, now that I’ve returned from the land of the waking dead, and I’m perfectly happy about it. Because I’m no longer an incoherent zombie.
But before I skip off to the laundry pile, might I acknowledge that Rugby stripes are like the almost as cool little brother to Awning stripes. I love them so much. And I love this shirt even more because it looks like a polo, with the stripes and the collar, but it’s not really a polo. I mean a polo shirt has to be cotton right? It’s one of the requirements. And this shirt is this kind of drapey, breezy, fabulous polyester number that hangs so nicely and tucks like a dream (you know when I’m not pregnant) and covers my belly adequately now that I am. Also, I’m pretty sure I’m the first person on the planet to call polyester fabulous, but there it is. The point is, (if I even have one, which I’m not sure I do) what qualifies a shirt to be a polo??
You may view this as a rhetorical question or answer as desired. But I’m kind of wondering.
So please answer.

Straight from Wikipedia because that’s just how my brain functions (or doesn’t) ;)
A polo shirt, also known as a golf shirt and tennis shirt, is a T-shaped shirt with a collar, typically a two- or three-button placket, and an optional pocket. Polo shirts are usually made of knitted cloth (rather than woven cloth), usually piqué cotton or, less commonly, silk, merino wool, or synthetic fibers.
HAHAHA. This is awesome. Thank you.
Love the colors your white pants!!
How do you control static with a polyester shirt?
I don’t know if it’s the weave or what, but I haven’t had the slightest problem with static cling on this shirt.
I love this rugby stripe combo!
Also, check out my latest post to see your awning stripe skirt in our engagement pictures! It looks awesome!

Speaking of the awning skirt, my husband is officially on board with buying me one when I hit my goal weight!
fantastic outfit!!
That bold rugby stripe is lovely. :) I love natural fibers, but sometimes the right polyester is a wonderful thing!
The rugby shirt looks adorable on you! I also LOVE your pants. Are they maternity? If not, I am going to look for some in Target.
Jill, they are not maternity. I just use the fabulous rubber band button trick. ;-)
Thanks for the info!
love the stripes on stripes!! :)
Cori, I think a polo shirt has a collar and is typically made of a thicker cotton weave…. and they are always a classic choice. Adore your blog and love, LOVE your skirts. I just ordered two! I’m doing a post about how much I love your skirts on my blog tomorrow. Congratulations on the new girl on the way!
Gorgeous look! I love everything about this especially the stripes! So cute!
