I don’t think I’m just biased when I say that my Hannah was a dang cute baby, and boy were we obsessed with that little pink frog.  Everyone was.  She was the first everything.  First pregnancy, baby, grand-daughter, and niece.  On both sides.  It isn’t always easy having to be the one who goes first, actually I think it’s rarely easy, but what a fantastic little guinea pig Hannah has been.  Especially to me.   When I think back on the wide-eyed 21-year-old I was when I brought her home from the hospital I almost can’t believe we survived the last nine years.  I learned everything about being a mother from my Hannah, and she is the apple of my eye.

I hope the next nine years of discovering her are as interesting and wonderful as the first.  I hope I don’t make as many mistakes, but I’m sure I will.

That’s what happens on the first after-all.

It’s a calling and a curse.

And I can’t imagine a better child to carry both.

Happy Birthday Hannah!

“A calling and a curse”…so true. The first will always hold a special place all their own. Your taste in fashion is fantastic but the way you love your family is what is most beautiful. Thanks for all the inspiration! Happy Birthday Hannah!

I feel so silly but since you have the new site I can’t figure out how to read your blog posts? When I click on blog all that comes up is a picture and then comments. I am guessing the last few posts haven’t just been a picture with no words? I love your sweet posts and am hoping I don’t have a compatibility issue with the new site!
