crow.

Sometimes I have to eat crow with myself.  Especially when it comes to a style or silhouette I swore I would NEVER wear.  And then, I do.  Like, say track pants for instance.  I kind of said to myself that I would never go there. Saying never is one of those things that’s kind of a dumb idea.  Because, I guarantee the minute you say never about something, fate will come along and make a hypocrite of you.  Like  being “that mom” who takes your kid into the grocery store with a stained shirt, or forgetting to zip your zipper.  In my case, fate came in the form of these drapey track pants, which I basically couldn’t resist (not my fault ;-).  Anyways, the navy blue variety of these babies, which I have been craving since I bought the black ones, is now half-off at Nordstroms.

Guess who’s getting herself some blue track pants?

Me that’s who.

With a steaming plate of crow on the side…

Happy Monday.

PS. Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale is going on as we speak… don’t miss out. ;-)

They are wayf. I altered mine down to fit better, they were a little awkward when I first got them but I love them now that they’re slimmed down to fit.

how did you alter them? I think i’m going to keep them, but they’re a bit long for me and i like the length you altered it to. do you think nordstrom can do it for me? i’m not a great seamtress!

I removed the cuff at the bottom, slimmed and shortened them and then replaced the cuff. It wasn’t a very difficult alteration, I’m sure they could do it at Nordstrom or any tailor could do it.

That’s happened to me more times then I can count. I say I’ll never wear… and then I go and like the style. Totally agree I’ve learned never to say never.

Funny as I do this all the time! I am usually so late to jump on a style bandwagon as I am so hesitant and say the whole “never” thing a little too often. Case in point, those track pants but with how adorable they are on you and seeing them a few other times on others makes me want to rethink them a bit!

I totally said that about the peplum silhouette. And then along came this oh-so-flattering black peplum sweater from Loft … and I’m a convert. It can be tough sometimes to balance staying true to what is “your style” and trying new things.
