Okay, first off.  Can we just talk about the finale of Downton last night?!  Because seriously.

Here are my thoughts on season 5:

I was kind of on the bored side for most of it.  I’ll always love Downton but some of the plots felt a bit redundant.  (Like, oh now Anna’s going to prison!  And for murder no less!) But the season finale kind of redeemed it all for me.  I wish Isabel had ended up marrying Dicky(ie?) He’s super sweet and he loves her, and I like the idea of the elder characters having some romantic action on the show.  Especially the Dowager!  Holy scandal!  But best of all was Mr. Carson’s proposal.  Ah-mazing.  It took me totally by surprise and I kind of laugh/cried for the whole of it.  With those bushy puppy dog eyebrows, I would have said yes to him too.  So loving it.

Rose is adorable, and so is her new husband.  I suppose she’s leaving the show now and that makes me sad, because she’s like a breath of fresh air.  I wanted to punch her mom in the face last episode.  (not really, but kind of.)  She really is a horrible woman.

I can’t talk about Tom leaving.  I just can’t.

Glad Lady Mary didn’t end up with any of the suitors from last season- snore.  None of them were quite feisty enough from her.  I hope this new guy they intro’d comes back because he got a bit of a bite to him and whoever takes on Lady Mary needs a bit of bite.  And for the record, I’m still not over Matthew even if she seems to be…

And now since I’ve got nothing in the way of transitions, let’s talk about clothes!

(see how I did that?  So smooth..)

I’m always excited when I find a new way to layer, (layering is kind of my thing) and I’d never tried doubling up on the turtlenecks before, but these two have the most delightfully drapey necks that it actually worked quite well, and was rather cozy.

I won’t bore you for the umpteenth time on my thoughts and feelings about distressed denim, but I will say that I’ve been asked many times over the last few weeks where I found these jeans.  ZARA is the answer, my mecca for distressed boyfriend denim.  Unfortunately, they aren’t online anymore, (maybe you can find them in store??– that is, if you happen to live in the 4 cities in the US that have a Zara) But the good news is, I spent a ridiculous amount of time last night rounding up all the best distressed denim I could find from around the internets, and I limited myself to only jeans that were of the rip and repair variety. (meaning no thigh sneaky-peek) because I know those are hard to find and they are my very favorite (and the denim I get asked about the most).  You can find the fruits of my labor below.  Now go forth and find denim!

ps. should you be aware of a fantastic pair of distressed denim that you would recommend to your best friend or your sister, pretty please share a link in the comments below!

MWAH!

And the happiest of Mondays to you all!

These are my favorite distressed “no-show” jeans. Wait for a sale, or try E-Bay! It took me a while to find them on sale, but eventually, I did!
