The truth is, no matter how old I get, I still like to get dressed up fancy.  I don’t really need a reason, date night it plenty, so I thought I’d share a little semi-formal jumpsuit look for you on this Friday, in case you come up short in the idea department for your next event, or if you, like me just want to look a little fancy on date night.  Your husband will thank me…

I wore this to dinner a few months ago when we were on our cruise in the Caribbean and it knocked my husband’s socks off, so I call that a success.  We never got around to photographing it, so last weekend when we were getting ready to go out for our date I thought, “well, why not get a little fancy?”  You should do that every once in a while, I think.  Make life unnecessarily glamorous because, why not?  I had just snagged this belt at the Nordstrom sale the night before, and it was exactly what I had been looking for when I originally wore this outfit.  I wish I could have found it in March!  My sequin belt is tucked away shamefully in the corner of the belt drawer…

I’m always looking for chic ways to make styles work for me, (especially in the modesty department) and I have to say, this particular look was inspired by the glorious Julia Roberts, (I just switched up the gown for a jumpsuit), but I figure if it’s good enough for Julia, it’s good enough for me.

Also, I can’t tell you how many jumpsuits I ordered to find one that worked for me.  Jumpsuits are not petite friendly!  (Although, this one runs tiny, I had to size up.)

Anyway, I better run.  It’s Miss Hannah’s 11th birthday and I’ve got a handful of tween girls arriving at my house in a few hours for a fabulous party.  (If I do say so myself.) How did I become a mom of an 11-year-old?  That went by so fast.
