The first time I met my in-laws was right after I’d gotten thrown off of one of their horses. It was a little awkward, as you can imagine. The look my father-in-law gave Craig… I eventually had the guts to climb up back up on Sahara (the horse that threw me) but it wasn’t until after Craig and I were married. Once I did, I was hooked. I love horses. I really, really want to have horses. I like to wear my desires right on my chest, that way everyone knows about them. Just kidding, sort of. But seriously, I love all these quirky knit sweaters I’ve been seeing around this fall. A little twist on a classic closet piece.
Speaking of horses, my sister Meghan and I used to say that when we grew up we’d have a ranch with horses and chickens and we’d all live on it together. Doesn’t that sound lovely? I guess it never occurred to us back then, that when you grow up and get married you don’t really live in the same house with your sister and her husband and family. Just a small detail we overlooked…
This vegan leather jacket was a closet investment I made around this time last year, and I’m still having a love affair with it. I had to gulp down the $188 price tag a little bit, but if I had realized what a closet workhorse it would be, it would have been no trouble at all. A good leather jacket (vegan or otherwise) is an investment worth making. They last forever (I feel like they get better with age), don’t go out of style and they work with everything. Especially in this magic cognac color. Seriously this jacket goes with everything. I’ve been throwing it over my summer dresses for the last month and getting a little extra wear out of them.
This style is long gone, but you guys Anthro has another almost identical one this year, same gorgeous color and it comes in petites as well. It’s really hard for me to find coats/jackets that actually fit me (even in petite) so finding one that fit like a glove right off the rack was huge. It also comes in moss and burnt orange. I really want to add that moss color to my closet.
I’m so glad it’s the weekend!
Here’s a few fun things:
loved Anna’s post on dresses for every occasion.
Janssen’s Girl Talk post had me rolling. I want to be best friends with her daughters.

Emily’s free Autumn printable is just beyond cute. I have a few of her prints in my home and I love them.
Um, Jessica hand knitted this sweater. The talent of this girl is out-of-control.
Gabrielle’s vintage vespa killed me dead. Dead.
We will be cozied up on the couch this weekend watching this and I cannot wait. Best weekend of the year.

Really loving this jacket and tempted by the latest Anthro one–thanks for mentioning! How has the vegan leather worn over time? Does it stretch or conform at all?
